It's a very nice property both the exterior and interior. Our room was large and tastefully decorated (maybe not the bathroom). The restaurant was also very good. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner there. We were happy with all our meals. The one thing to note is that there is no wifi (which really wasn't a bad thing). If I...

The 3 hour long pathway to Phobchika valley was a journey of a life time with cool breeze touching your face and pine trees everywhere. If you are lucky enough you would see the black necked crane down the valley on your way . We stayed at Dewachen resort for one night The food was good, the wine was good,...

The remote (5-6 hrs drive over bumpy roads from Thimphu) location of the Phobjika valley and the setting of the hotel overlooking two valleys is just brilliant. The hotel itself is very basic and the staff very friendly, but there is no internet and television. It gets pretty cold in the night and you have to keep stoking the fire...

The large hotel is situated a few hundred meters above a small village, about 3.5km south of Gangtey Monastery. The exterior looks great. We had a deluxe room: rustic, two armchairs and a small table, comfortable beds, water cooker, tea bags, Nescafé, two bottles of water per day. No electric heater, but a wood stove. The staff lighted it at...

We stayed there for one night. It was very cold in April, even though there was a wood heater in the room, it didn't last long enough to keep the room warm. The electric heater in the room was not of any help too unless you stand right in front of it. We used the hot water bottles provided to...

Stayed here for a night. Our room was large and clean, with large windows and good views on two sides. The wood-burning stove in the room kept the room warm, though one load of wood lasted only for about half an hour, so the room cooled down considerably over night. Lighting was much too dim and the main lamp in...

Really enjoyed our one night stay in the hotel. Excellent food. Log fire in each room and hot water bottles therefore was warm despite it being cold outside. Stunning views window, perfect spot to launch into a good book. Powerful warm shower. Lighting a little dim which is about my only small complaint.

This hotel offers nice rooms, view on the valley, individual wood heater if you want to enjoy the room and the view. The food is good and the location perfect for hiking in the valley. The staff will do whatever they can to make your stay the best you can think of.

A charming hotel on the side of the valley where the Black Necked Crane live for a few weeks. The roadway surface to this area (2017) was not good at all (it is being developed but has a way to go yet and with twists and turns may well merit motion sickness tablets). I had a huge room with en-suite...

The hotel has a nice situation and the external pictures make the hotel look very nice indeed. Positives: Good-sized rooms Decent shower with hot water Negatives: Buffet food (again) which seemed to combine the worst of Bhutan, Asia and the west Wood burning stove in the room was very cute but it didn't stay in for very long and didn't...
