Anilana Nilaveli is an excellent location right in front of the Pigeon island. I was happy to spend two nights at Anilana Nilaveli & another 2 nights at their sister property Anilana Pasikuda. Their service was great and my son and I was looked after very well. I specifically enjoyed the night time calypso music which arranged at Anilana Nilaveli. Hope to visit Anilana Hotels soon.
Spent 2 nights at this fabulous hotel. The food and service was excellent. Very entertaining and friendly staff. A special thank you to Mr. Trayan for his great hospitality and support in all ways. Keep up the good work guys. Cheers!!
We are staying in a studio room, which is "the highest room" category at Anilana Nilaweli, I'm writing this review while staying at this hotel. It's sad to see the situation of this hotel, i think the owners / Managers here are simply not bothers, we understand the struggle in the leisure industry of Sri Lanka, we had easter attacks and then covid 19, leisure industry never recovered yet there were plenty of locals just like us who were traveling travelling around, giving plenty some business for hotels. I feel situation in this hotel has little to do with covid or Easter sunday bombing, it's a clear case of management ignorance and lack of attention to detail, I don't see anyone running a proper business here. This entire property badly maintained, there was a dangerous wasp colony concrete column on the 2nd floor, one throw of a stone or a bird accidentally land on it will create dangerous situation for all the guests. management is simply not bothered about it at all. Entire greenery in this property is turning brown (grass is nearly dead in some areas), there are tons and tons of fallen leaves in the garden, lawns were not cut, unwanted bushes/trees are out growing, yet the management is not bothered. We checked in to room no. 201, the AC was out of order and we waited for about 5 hours, then we were given a new room, room no. 101, they said the room was a ocen view studio (highest room category in our hotel) at the time of booking, i don't see the ocean from my room, all i see is a dead garden and bunch of tree tops. ( i will be attaching images for your records). Room has all discolored, ugly furniture, it's like they were reused after a tsunami or left out in outside in the rain and suddenly taken inside after about 6-7 months, bathroom has ugly toilet seats, the water tap in the wash basin is sprinkling water in all directions (because it is blocked and never cleared), TV receiver is glued in the bottom of the TV and it's kept of falling. The curtain were ugly, the glass windows were not properly cleaned (you may find them all in my photos). it's a real disappointment. There are two swimming pools in this hotel, we used both of them, none of them have filters operating when we were there, water was murky (we couldn't see the bottom) and (check out my photo) there were algae growing on the side walls and the bottom of the pool. (check my photo - brown algae), this is a clear indication of lack of filtration, improper circulation of water. It's quite dangerous to have a pool like this for guests, i don't understand why this management is not even bothered? Variety of food served is not great, yet there was nothing wrong, we were served peppered beef twice for two consecutive days for dinner, well that's ok considering the other agonies in this hotel. We ordered french fries from in-room dining, received something we could called a brown version of french fries, portion was huge and horribly burned pieces were found. It was quite disappointing... So i inquired from the front desk about the GM, the man who should be in charge of this property, named was mentioned and yet i did not see that figure visiting any of the guests. I did not see the head chef visiting the guests to ask their opinion about the meals. There are bunch of minor staffs desperately trying to keep things under control here to the best of their capacity, while i feel management is not bothered to uplift any standard, they simply ignore everything, things they can see with their own eyes... if i can see these issues as highlighted in my photos, why can't they see this... over to you dear management of Anilana and Anilana Nilaweli, as one of your customer, i urge you to critically look in to all issues highlighted, you are robbing guests money as this experience is one of our worst up to now...…
Had a pleasant stay. Friendly staff. The buffet was good and the rooms were clean. Clean beach and beautiful view. Recommend for a family visit. The dinner area was really beautiful in the night among the trees and lighting. (Traveled in 2018)
Nice place we visited first time for a lunch first and we came again for diner ! Beautiful spot at Nilavelli , service was great ! We were alone but all the staff took care of us ! 2 big swimming pool , cooking in front of us ! We appreciated at diner owner who came for presentation . We recommand this place at every season
