We (family of 4, 2 small kids) were there for 5 nights in one of the family suites in the dependance. The hotel looks good and elegant as expected and is well positioned in the area, as you can reach all the LLanes and East Asturias beaches in a few minutes, and also the Covadonga area or Oviedo in 1 hour or so. The hotel is unfortunately located in a very small and run-down industrial area outside LLanes and is itself losing a bit of its form, you can tell that its best days are past (even though still a very pleasant structure). Also breakfast was a bit poor, you could tell food was gathered from a low quality supermarket (bad/aging fruit, industrial cake/sweets). Still very plentiful if not particularly healthy.
My husband and I stayed in the Junior Suite. The room was large and with a partitioned balcony. The mountain view was beautiful and the area was quiet/serene. Unfortunately, there are very limited dining options in the area - it is off the beaten path, but Llanes is only minutes away (parking in Llanes is challenging). El Indiana staff are very courteous and helpful. And the free parking was a bonus!
My husband and I stayed in the Junior Suite at the Hotel El Indiana and the view was stunning. The room was very nice and very large. There are, however, very limited number of restaurants in the area, but Llanes was only minutes away. It was also nice to have free parking!
This is a very nice hotel. The exterior location might look a little unprepossessing - it is on a main road opposite a petrol station and near a garage. However, once you drive up the narrow access route to the private parking at the back, you realise that actually it has a reasonable garden for guests to sit out in - although for me the road noise would still be a little off putting. The room we had was part of the main historic building - there are some rooms that are their own little buildings. The room was very large and dual aspect with a built in wardrobe. There was also an antique looking chest of drawers but this was sealed shut. The bed was huge and very very comfortable- I was very surprised to discover it was memory foam as I wouldn’t have known without looking. The ensuite bathroom was fully tiled and had underfloor heating; the fittings were all good quality duravit and the bath was very long and deep. The shower was a smaller, hand held type over the bath rather than a rainfall one but this fits in with the hotel’s eco philosophy of water saving. There was no fitting for a shower curtain which I assume ties in with this as it certainly stops you spraying water everywhere. Unusually from what I’ve seen of Spanish hotels, the glasses in the bathroom and the drinking glasses in the room were all proper thick glass of the type you’d use at home rather than disposable plastic cups. The provided toiletries were nice and the towels were very fluffy! The staff were very nice - approachable and professional and spoke perfect English. We didn’t use room service - which was drinks only - but the prices were reasonable. Breakfast seemed a bit expensive so we didn’t eat at the hotel but on walking past in the morning it smelt very nice. In terms of location, the hotel is a five minutes drive from the main Llanes car park near the Sabion beach, meaning you get all the pluses of Llanes without what might be noisy Camino hikers staying next door. I’d highly recommend staying here if you’re in the area. …
My sister and I visited our ancestral home in Asturias and spent two nights at El Indiana. We couldn't have been more satisfied and we are hard to please. Every attention to detail in the room and breakfast. The linens were high quality and so was the service. It's a 10 minute drive to the beach town of Llanes which is lovely. If you're planning on vacationing in this area, I highly recommend El Indiana!
