We stayed for three nights in a very comfortable room on the ground floor overlooking the rear gardens. The Hotel should be credited with the hard work they put in to secure a third night in the same room. The Breakfast menu offered a very good choice as did the Dinner menu. The choice of music played was quite wrong and the volume it was played at, too loud. Music from 'Larkins' and 'Bloxx' etc. hardly fall into the ambient music category and should be reconsidered. Comfortable nights, lovely and quiet, Very helpful and courteous staff made the stay a very enjoyable and pleasant one. Cost was not particularly an issue but we would return if the need ever arose in the future.

We’ve just come back after a 2 nights stay here .. weve been past many of times and said I’d love to try here it looks amazing so we booked. The rooms are nice , we had a room with double doors so we could open them and look out over the grounds round the back .. lovely pond and quiet. Bed was big and comfortable however the pillows were hard. At night I decided to have a soak in the bath however there was no bubble bath. After a uncomfortable sleep - because of the pillows we were looking forward to a decent breakfast. This was the biggest let down for us. I’ve seen a better selection at a premier inn , no fresh tea or coffee .. juice was very limited with bits in! Pastries were sparse , once gone they took ages to refill. I’d expect a lot better with this being a 4-5 star hotel. I have stayed in 3 stars what have been better . Lesson learnt .. all because it looks nice from the outside doesn’t always meet the expectations inside. Work to be guys specially in the restaurant! This was not a cheap stay , however very disappointing.. we won’t be back sorry.

Dear Helen, Thank you for the review. I am sorry to hear your recent experience with us did not meet your expectations of the stay ahead. Its great to hear you liked our Hypnos, memory foam beds and enjoyed the views of the surrounding Peak District. I do wish you would have mentioned your dislike of our pillows and we would have been more than happy to try and offer a more comfortable alternative for you so as not to spoil your nights sleep. We provide several additional complimentary items in our rooms including additional toiletry items such as shampoo, conditioner and toothbrush kits. Bubble bath is not a an addition that we provide within our rooms nor something we advertise that we do so. I am sorry to hear you found our breakfast selection to be limited. The team monitor our selection and its quantities throughout our breakfast service, replenishing items where required. As can be expected with cooked items, there is a small wait time to be expected while these items are prepared. I can assure the team work quickly to ensure wait times are kept to a minimum. We supply tea, coffee and a selection of juices including apple and orange on our breakfast buffet, alongside fresh fruit, yogurts, a selection of cereals and pastries. I am sorry that you found this to be limited. Our orange juice if freshly squeezed and therefore naturally does contain bits. We are sorry to hear you wont be returning to stay at Peak Edge and wish you safe onward travel. Kind regards Lucy - guest services.

This hotel is stunning, so clean and fresh with beautiful décor throughout, All staff were friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in was large, comfortable and felt luxurious. The food and drinks were of a high quality and very enjoyable. This is not a pub serving pub food, it is much more! We stayed for just one night but I will certainly be returning for at least two nights. This hotel is immaculate and everything about it is to a high standard. I would highly recommend this hotel and the restaurant. Our stay was perfect.

To start this review, I would like to say I did ask with speak with the duty manager to discuss all issues. No manager available and no response to the note I left at reception with my contact details. I also sent an email with photos of the shower mould/dirt.. We have previously stay at this hotel and had booked to stay again last December but was cancelled due to Covid. In need of a break, we booked for one night and was looking forward to returning but things had definitely changed. No biscuits to have with our tea/coffee (we had been walking and was looking forward to a cuppa and a biscuit}. This was due to Covid and cross contamination. This could be solved with the small prepack biscuits. I asked for a lemon tea bag, none available. Then there’s the bathroom – photo’s attached. The shower is in desperate need of a deep clean. It is full of black mould in the corners and the bottom of the door is filthy. I had a bath at night and didn’t use the shower until the morning. Horrible!! Dinner which on our last stay was amazing. This time it was bog standard roast which was below bog standard. Very disappointing. Flat Yorkshire puds, parsnips so tough we couldn’t cut them, beef fairly tasteless. Very disappointing all round. Please let guest know that your normal menu is not available on Sundays. Back to the room and a soak in the bath before bed for a good nights sleep before another day of walking. No bubble bath provided by hotel. But the good nights sleep didn’t happen. The pillows were rock hard, synthetic and impossible to get comfortable on. Off to reception to ask for feather pillows – none available. We do usually take our own just in case but forgot them on this occasion. So no sleep was had. In the morning we asked to speak with the duty manager who wasn’t on site, and the receptionist didn’t know when she’d be in. Breakfast. Asked for an americano coffee as we know the standard coffee is pretty awful. We got just one cup. No staff around to ask for a second cup. Hot food – bacon dry and hard, a fork couldn’t go into it. One hash brown partly raw. Poached egg was good. Back to the room, no water in the bathroom. At this point we gave up and left. Such a shame after our first visit where we were so impressed. Definitely not worth the money paid for one nights stay with no sleep and poor standard of food. Cleanliness rating is based on the bathroom, rest of the room was fine apart from no pillow protectors. And still no contact from management at the time of writing this review.
