I've never left a negative review before, but we had such a bizarre and frustrating experience that I felt inclined to. We were two mid-thirties couples who have back packed and camped a lot in our lives, so we were stunned when the campground lady made her rounds the second night we stayed there at 11:00pm, and oddly and aggressively...

I was originally booked to stay at Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park Campground with my wife and dog in our 30ft travel trailer. I noted online that my trailer and truck exceeded the maximum combined vehicle length for this park. I consider myself quite good at backing up a trailer so I ignored the warnings. I arrived late around 10pm,...

My friends and I stopped here for a night on our road trip up Highway 1 from LA to Portland.... All I can say is I wish we could've stayed more than one night! We got one of the cabins and it was perfect. Cozy and warm, comfy bed, and our own little fire pit right outside... The woman who...

My husband and I were looking to get away for our anniversary weekend. We had rented a cabin in advance for two nights. We had originally rented #10 but decided to switch because 1) it only had a grill, not a fire pit, 2) the cabin directly in front of us could see directly into our cabin so did not...

We rented Cabin #9 for two nights, which, we did not realize prior to booking, is in between the onsite store and the onsite staff's permanent trailers. So the view from our outdoor area (fire pit and picnic table) was the office staff's giant trailer. It's a wet campground and very muddy (even if it hasn't rained in a while)...

Such a lovely little forest setting. Our cabin was one of the quaintest things I've ever seen, and the bed was comfortable. I had one hell of a good night's sleep. We were only there for one night so really didn't get to make the most of it, but I loved that groups/families were out in their PJs at the...

We booked a single night at this campground in Big Sur while we had already been on the road for 2 weeks. After leaving San Francisco we drove down highway 1. We didn't really know what to expect, as we've seen a lot of great places along the way, but this campground was amazing. Right on Highway 1, but you'll...

There's so many better options to camp at in big sir than this place. Staff was the rudest I've ever encountered, grounds are shady with a chicken wire fence separating it from a group camp ground next door. Plus they have a ton of hidden charges. Our experience was extremely disappointing!

We took a risk and went to Big Sur without reservations on a holiday weekend hoping to get a walk-up spot and found this place very welcoming. We had to move sites, but thanks to the awesome staff we managed to stay two nights with one night right on the river and another buried in the woods. The sites are...

This is a lovely wooded campsite and you cross the river to get to it so it is pretty special. Jhae, who had booked us in was on duty and gave us a super spot to pull in right by the river. The place is under great demand so I strongly recommend that if you want to stay you book...
