Where do I begin? This place was absolutely amazing! I had heard about Treebones a few years ago, and ever since then I knew that one day I HAD to go there. I just got back from a week in California, and this was where my husband and I stayed for two nights of our trip. This was by far...

We stayed two nights in yurt 15, which I had carefully chosen because it had an ocean view and was next to the extra bathroom. It was so foggy while we were there that we hardly saw the ocean, and it was so cold and windy that even if we had had a view, we would not have been tempted...

Thank you for giving us a try. We appreciate it. A note to curious readers...summers in Big Sur can be foggy, cool and damp. Try visiting the area in the less frenetic months of October, November, December, January and February...these are wonderful months, often warmer...and less crowded.

Treebones is a unique getaway - one that you wont find elsewhere. The resort consists of about 16 yurts, a nest and the treehouse. Book the treehouse if you enjoy adventure. It is completely private, hidden, and totally unique. The treehouse has a fireplace, comfortable bed and a sink and overlooks the ocean. It was like something out of a...

My husband and I stayed at Treebones last night. It was wonderful. The yurt was clean and comfortable and despite it being a "partial ocean view" actually had a full view of the ocean. We thought the food was fresh and were impressed with the portions. The wine list was excellent. For a "campsite" the bathroom was luxurious and clean....

This really was glamour camping. Views amazing!! Make sure you bring warm clothes. 70 degrees on a cliff next to the pacific ocean is NOT the same as 70 degrees inland. It gets windy and you need layers of warm clothes. You really will never stay in a place like this anywhere else. Yurts were spacious and clean. Changing area...

I visited Treebones in Big Sur over New Year's with my boyfriend. We stayed in one of the cozy and fun yurts. We booked last minute and the only one available was right in the middle of everything( I think it was number 9) and that worried me a little, but it was fine. We heard the frogs in the...

So glad you were with us over the New Year. It is a wonderful time to visit...whales are usually migrating south by then...peaceful, beautiful. It is my favorite month in Big Sur because the sun sets directly in front of the Lodge...a rosy beautiful glow on the direct horizon.

We spent two nights at Treebones. We stayed in Yurt #4 and had an amazing time. Bed was very comfy. Lots of room to spread out. Could see a bit of the amazing coast line from our porch. Woke each morning to sunlight through the skylight and the sealions barking on the rocks down below. Ate both breakfasts and dinners...

My wife and I stayed at Treebones for our Anniversary and frankly, it was just average and to some extent a disappointment. We stayed in yurt # 16 which is isolated from the other yurts but that means we were closer to Highway 1 and it was noisy (there is a reason why they have free earplugs at the reception-...

Dinner at Treebones was expensive and, overall a disappointment. We were told we could not walk around the property while we waited to be seated for dinner (1/2 hour) - guests only. The view is a wedge of the mighty Pacific (cut the bushes down a little from the deck!), and the dining room is a beautiful soaring space with...

Thank you for stopping in for dinner. So glad to hear the soup, the salad and the crab cakes were to your liking...they are delicious to be sure and you are correct! the greens come right out of our organic garden. We will most definitely let the chef know that a guest found the black rice undercooked that evening. Our...

From the moment we arrived, I knew it was going to be an unforgettable experience. The girl at the front desk was incredibly sweet and extremely knowledgable. Above all, she was passionate about Big Sur and the California Coast. We stayed in an ocean view Yurt, which is a must. The views of the Pacific (whether its a clear day...
