We had to book about a year in advance but we got it when we wanted it. Nice coastal views, and a short drive into big sir. Don't blink cause you'll miss the turn into the place. The guys that run the place are awesome to. I wish they were pet friendly.

The staff are all wonderful. The views are beautiful. Unique experience. Yurts are spacious. The bed was very comfortable and warm. Our fireplace did not work the second night of our stay which is the only complaint I have, however, it wasn't that cold so not too much of an inconvenience. I loved hearing the sea lions barking day and...

Treebones is a truly unique place to stay along the Big Sur coastline. The yurts are cozy and comfortable and made for a pleasant stay and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The property itself is lovely and has wonderful views of the ocean, mountains, and at night, the starry sky. We had an amazing meal at the sushi...

Yurt Experience: you will not be able to park next to your yurt. But, once we were checked-in, they called for someone to meet us at our car with a golf cart. They placed our bags in the golf cart and drove us to our yurt. I immediately loved the cute double door entry into the yurt and the balcony...

We stayed two days in #2 yurt and loved every minute of our stay. As owners of our own B & B we were impressed how clean everything was and so well kept. The grounds and rest. were so nice and all the people who worked there were so nice. The morning Belgium waffles were such a treat, we had...

Negatives first: Our yurt (no 2) is close to a noisy generator attached to the main building. While the tents are not sound proof and you can hear other guests talking, this industrial noise took away from the tranquility. Avoid no 2! Breakfast was poor, especially compared to the excellent dinner. Positives: We loved the experience, the views, the tent...

Thank you for sharing your recent experience with others. Yes it's true! Yurt #2 sits very close to the main lodge. (We let guests know this prior to arrival in our Confirmation Email, and also pre-inform in the email that they may hear extraneous noise) Yurt 2 is one of two yurts completely wheel chair accessible and as such is...

Staying at Treebones was my husbands idea and I must admit I was a little skeptical-I was blown away. The property is gorgeous and beautifully landscaped. We were booked in yurt #14 and were concerned about the noise however there was none. We both had 2 fabulous nights of sleep. The restaurant provided amazing dinners and they packed us lunch...

Thank you for going 'out on a limb' and going along with your husband's idea to give us a try! Love to hear about 'converts' to the glamping venue we offer here. Stay happy and return again soon. Cheers

I have been wanting to stay at Treebones for years and were very lucky to call on a day when they had a cancelation. The yurt was great with a beautiful view over the ocean. Very nice to have a sink in the yurt as the bathrooms are shared. Keep in mind that the yurts are not much different from...

We booked two yurts, # 9 and # 10, for us and another married couple friends of ours for two nights. I was a bit skeptical at first since I didn't know what to expect when 'glamping' in Yurts. It exceeded our expectations with regards to cleanliness, location, access to the rest rooms and showers. It has queen size beds,...

Thank you for sharing with the TripAdvisor community. Sounds like you had the wonderful privilege on enjoying whales in the ocean below and the stars displayed so brilliantly at night... Great to remind visitors to bring flashlights for those possible night time trips to the restrooms! Yes, our dinner menu may be more pricey than what you may find in...

We were lucky to grab a reservation opening that popped up two months before our trip. They were almost fully booked for months and months out - this place is in high demand for good reason! Treebones captures the essence of the California coast and Big Sur. We enjoyed every moment of this unique experience. We stayed in Yurt 2,...

We really appreciate that you took the time to share details of your experience with inquiring guests. We are pleased to know that you enjoyed the location of your Yurt #2, You're right... it is close to the lodge which makes access to the facilities easy, and while some guests occasionally find this Yurt to be a little noisier, the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Unusual and unique eco-lodge experience with immense expansive ocean views on Big Sur's remote and rugged South Coast. Guests enjoy cozy comforts in fully furnished tent-like yurts or choose a campsite and bring all their own tents/gear to camp. Resort 'feel' in rustic setting. Two popular restaurant venues with cozy, communal atmosphere boast great service, organic, locally sustained cuisine with same great views. Massage services, hiking information, and modern book & sundries store on premises. Sustainability statement: We are dedicated to providing an honest eco-experience. We are off grid and over 50% sustained by solar power. We recycle and utilize our onsite garden and chickens to complete a composting cycle. We are also human-sustained: Meaning..we serve tourists with our hearts and our hands and there are humans behind the service here..not robots! ... more   less
