The Good: We stayed here over Labour Weekend for my partners's birthday, whIch I had emailed ahead to Pete & Steve about. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Steve and shown our room. There was a handwritten card awaiting us and fresh flowers. The room was lovely - antique furniture, beautiful bathroom with large shower, very comfortable bed and pillows...

Stayed at the end of walking Abel Tasman track. A wonderful welcome, spotless rooms, soo comfortable beds. The Jacuzzi was great. Dinner is a set menu, at Master chef standard! Host Steve is a treasure.

We returned just because of our first experience and it matched all over again. Cocktails are sublime and Steve made us the best platter I've ever had for dinner. Beds are super comfy and the showers were just as good as I remembered. You feel totally relaxed here.

After finishing our 3 day walk through the Abel Tasman National Park, Pete and Steve did an absolutely amazing job of welcoming us to their amazing lodge in Pohara. Their service is first class and the accomodation they provide is the best that we have experienced in a very long time. Thanks again for a very memorable stay

Ratanui Lodge is small and cozy luxury lodge, right on Pohara Beach. As well as on the doorstep of the Abel Tasman track. Steve was such great host, being able to squeeze us in at short notice. The rooms were well appointed, big bathrooms, great showers and lovely local amenities. The beds were super comfy, with luxury linen and cosy...

We've stayed at Ratanui Lodge 4 or 5 times now and it never fails to live up to expectation. Steve is the most wonderful host and Pete provides the most delicious and beautifully presented meals, even catering for my vegetarian requirements. Cocktails in front of the fire, a soak in the hot tub, watching & listening to tuis in the...

From the moment you arrive you are taken care of. Rooms are awesome, service is second to none. If you want to laze around and recharge the batteries then highly recommend making the trip over the hill. Great location to base yourself for touring around the Golden Bay Area. Thanks for the making our stay unforgettable!

All aspects of our stay at Ratanui Lodge were absolutely fantastic, professional and super friendly service. The location is great, two minutes walk to a superb beach and another minute to a very good cafeteria. We recommend this Lodge highly.

These guys Pete and Steve the owners do the job brilliantly. It's the little things that make the difference. A handwritten card welcoming us. On the tourist hot spots they supply a laminated information sheet for each attraction with full description of how to find, and what to expect. I have never seen such a well done tourist information service...
