Estonia's first wine tourism – Luscher & Matiesen Muhu Farm Winery. Muhu Farm Winery carries in it the story of Estonian wine and the legend of more than 100 years about one of the biggest wineries in Estonia where the total production in the middle of the 1930s reached a staggering 400,000 liters. I had warned of our arrival at 7p.m. There, we were told that we must go to the table « immediately » because it is dinner time (no one had warned us before.. ok). We're just being asked if we want "the full dinner". No Menu. No price… The total vagueness. The other tables are entitled to wine, but no one comes to offer it to ours… only water for us… More and more strange. A starter arrives, a kind of rather successful fish tartare but, without menu, difficult to identify ... Then, the boss comes to address the other tables in Estonian and everyone gets up and goes after him. (Sorry we don’t speak Estonian. Anytime he didn’t speak to us). Yet he didn't even turn his head towards us to deign to give us an explanation in English. We remain alone in the dining room, for… 30 minutes. Finally, we decide to return to our room. 30 minutes later, the boss knocks on our door, speak to us for the first time and says "we misunderstood each other" ... Certainly. For us this evening is a failure. Good night.

I wish we stayed longer in this place: it was very calm and quiet with friendly staff. One can feel a personal touch in all the spaces. Muhu is a fantastic experience on its own, while our stay at Luscher & Matiesen made it flawless. I would definitely come back here if I am ever to come to Muhu / Estonia again.

Very cozy hotel. Lots of cozy details. The staff is friendly and helpful. Dinner was impressive. The impression was made by handmade toiletries in the room. The sauna can be booked at any time of the day

This is an absolute must go when you are in Saarenmaa. One of the most coziest and beautiful places I have ever seen. If you can’t stay for the night, at least go have lunch or dinner. Salami pizza during lunch was one of the best I have ever had, and all other dishes during our stay were excellent as well. The wines done in Muhu Veintalu are surprisingly good and you will fall in love with them as soon as you hear the inspiring story behind this place.

The name Veinitalu means á wine house. But this place is far from that. It is not a winery, no own wines available, a very limited selection of wines. The food was made in an open kitchen tent in the garden. The tent was ugly and ruined the view. The food was good but expensive. There was a garden restaurant and also a few tables inside. The breakfast was served in a separate room downstairs in the cellar. It was OK but in two mornings of our three the breakfast was half an our late. At the breakfast opening hour there was nothing on the table. The price for our room (120€) per night was way too much. The room was rather small, the double bed was huge and filled almost the whole room. There was only one chair in this double room, one small table and one wardrobe to be shared. No hairdryer, the bathroom sockets so high above the mirror that smaller persons like me can't wthem without help. The socket beside the bed was dangerously broken. The door to the room was a problem. It took time and several attempts to open and close the door. We had a bad looking accident by trying to get the lock to function. The staff was friendly and helpful but unprofessional (schoolgirls). The surroundings are very nice and quiet (if the sun shines) but I can't imagine what to do there if it rains. I would say that this place is rather a hostel than a hotel and therefore it is much overpriced.

Alfa - Rondo - Pinot Noir! Season 2018 is over in MUhu island Estonia. LAst weekend was harvest and the wine has pressed and is ready fermentade. Waiting next year to taste this years nectar. Sugar level was exelent. So expecting the wine is going to be extreamly good and nice. Own wine and local ingredient based food served in unique, clean, quite nataure is very nice experience, what to recommend for all who like to have a new and perfect experience during their holyday or jurney!

Arrived after 130km cycle ride. Friendly cheerful welcome, and the waiting sauna really appreciated. Spent 2 nights under the care of Mia and her team. They looked after us perfectly, even organising a return ride to the nearby restaurant the following day. Mia is a live wire person and gives the place its friendly feeling. Ate dinner on site. The meals was good although the rice risotto on the first night was overdone. Good selection of wines available. Peke is gradually getting the vineyard into shape. A brief tasting showed there is still some way to go.

The hotel is quiet and beautiful, however, the room was a bit small and had no curtains to prevent the morning light from coming in, so we did not sleep very well. Not very good value for money. The restaurant served good food and good wine, however, we were made to eat outside even though there was a strong wind blowing all evening, so we were a bit cold in spite of the blankets we were given.

So overpriced food and unprofessional service. 1. It is not a winery. It is a farm with one and two year old planted vines. 2. There is no sea view - it is 3 or 4 km from the sea. 3. There is not an à la carte restaurant. People should eat a three course dinner proposed by the chef. 4. There is no outdoor dining room. If good weather, they serve in the garden. 5. The rooms are not made up if you stay more than one night. Bathroom is not refreshed. There is no hairdryer. The lamb was prepared under the ashes in the garden which was spectacular to dig it out - but after all it was quite dry lamb. The room was hot and there was no possibility to open the window because of the mosquito's. They should install a mosquito window so that you can open at least a window. This energy triangle doesnt fit there at all because theres no space for that. Blank room only with bed, but the price was like in 5 star hotel. Morning coffee with breakfast was awful but theres was possibility to bought good coffee after the breakfast. There was winery trip even they don't have own produced wine and this costs also extra fee.

We stayed for two nights in the Deluxe room with a 1 year old baby. There were several things we found lacking: - There were only decorative curtains on the regular window which meant that the sun was shining into the room at 5 am. Confused the baby, who woke up and thought it was playtime. Other people needing darkness for sleeping could also be annoyed. - The "pyramid" above the bed is simply uncomfortable - you have to climb over or under it to get to the side of the bed and we bumped our heads several times. - The bathroom was terrible - there was air in the pipes so the tap was "coughing" like crazy, the water smelled of rotten egg (possibly not the fault of the hotel, but rather the area) and if you took a shower for longer than 20 seconds the whole floor was flooded. Not mentioning that there were no toiletries in the bathroom - for 100 eur a night it really should be provided. - For parents: the rustic door to your room is a total headache if you plan to sneak out of the room while your baby is sleeping - it is SO noisy to close it with the creaking hinges, metal latch and the . - A disappointment that there was no local wine considering it is a WINE place. It took a long time to get food and there was only one guy doing all the work, it seemed. Overall not worth the price of the room. On a positive note though, the place itself is very nice, you can enjoy nice sunsets on the terraces if the weather permits. The food in the restaurant was excellent, extra convenience that you could add the cost of the food to the room bill and pay just once. The staff was friendly.
