We had chosen to book a meal at the Nateby Inn in order to support a local business where we had previously enjoyed a bar meal. We chose to interpret the décor of plastic flowers and outlook onto a rotting caravan parked in the car-park as symbols of a new business venture not yet in tune with its focus clientele.... More

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. Sorry we didn’t have steak on the menu that evening, It's not often we are let down by our butcher he delivers a few times a week to ourselves as we like to buy fresh but on Thursday he never arrived due to circumstances we are unaware of. I am... More

Having booked a table at the Nateby Inn to support a local business we were looking forward to our meal. However a number of important issues need to be raised. Firstly upon ordering the mixed grill from the menu I was told that the meat had not been delivered yet (this was at 7.30pm in the evening). It must be... More

Lovely quiet spot surrounded by countryside with a very pleasant and peaceful beer garden. Rooms welcoming with comfortable nights sleep. The food was of a very good standard with friendly helpful hosts.

We needed to stay in the area for a couple of nights and this seemed a good choice from the reviews. We had two rooms which were clean and the beds were reasonable but the rooms could not have been smaller and the quality of finishing/furnishing not particularly good. This was not because it was a rustic old build -... More

We stayed in room 5 on Sunday 31st July. On arrival lovely welcome from Manager Andy, super king size comfortable bed, bath and shower which is a plus when walking. Views from pub are really nice from rear garden. We enjoyed our evening meal which was "proper pie of the day" meat and potato, homemade by Andy, superb and accompanied... More

Whilst the room was quite small, at the end of the day you need a place to lay your head. The bed was comfortable and clean, as was the room and facilities. The staff are amazingly helpful and friendly and I really cannot fault the place at all.

Loved the relaxed atmosphere and rustic views from the elevated beer garden. The food was prepared to perfection by a chef who is obviously confident of his expertise. The only downside was the size of our room, particularly with a dog in tow. That being said , the bed is over 6 feet wide!

Lovely place and people whether passing through on foot, cycle or car. Rooms clean and comfortable. A cafetiere as well as the usual sachets of coffee was great. Good evening meal and hearty breakfast.

We stayed here a while ago and enjoyed it, so when we were passing with friends we decided to call in. Food was advertised as being served until 8.30pm, so we thought we would have lunch. The first thing we were told was that they had stopped serving as they had run out of food! So we decided to have... More

Beautifully prepared room and good location for a stop off between Scotland and Sussex. Nice to have a bit of a walk, foot path goes across the fields from the pub to the river Eden, before returning for our bar meal.
