Lovely welcoming staff. Ruth and her team were friendly, efficient and attentive. The room was lovely, clean and stylish with tea, coffee, fresh fruit and homemade shortbread. Top quality bed linen and fluffy towels. The highlight of the stay was the amazing food. Beautiful, perfectly cooked menu, that could rival any top London Restaurant. You won't be disappointed!

First visit to this traditional cosy pub/hotel after buying a travelzoo voucher for a three course dinner for 4. Such a treat to still be able to find an old pub (log burner ablaze on a chilly spring evening), and be thrilled by the choice and high quality of dishes on offer. The chef delivered an amazing short rib of...

I last visited the Rock Inn many years ago. It was nice then but a little faded. So I was impressed with the changes the current owners have made to the interior decor whilst retaining the pubs traditional charms, including the great open fire. The dining room has had an interior make over making it a very pleasant place to...

We arrived at 6pm on a Saturday evening, having booked a room for the night and table in The Rock Inn's restaurant. Ruth and her team were extremely welcoming as we were shown to our room in the attic of the 400 year old building. Our room was absolutely spotless and very tastefully furnished. After a brief rest we went...

We booked here using a Travelzoo voucher. First visit, on phoning the owner/manager told me we could have either 6.30 or 8pm sittings. I opted for 8pm but on the day phoned to ask if we could be switched to 6.30 instead. I was told "Yes, but I need you here no later than 6.15 to get your drinks order...

Sunday lunch with friends. Excellent reception from staff and the chef! We sat at the Sung, a private room with sofas and can sit 8-10. Food was excellent, good quality ingredient and cooked well. Homemade ice cream - lots of flavour to choose from. Serving staff is very tentative. Clearly trying to present food in the modern stylish way. Mid-up...

Went for dinner with my husband and were greeted by the very friendly and welcoming staff. We got the table in the cozy corner next to the fire place and were encouraged to rub the rocks next to it and make a wish. My husband had the oysters to start and I had the crab, avocado and salmon to start,...

We were on our way to Devon and stopped at the Rock Inn for Sunday lunch wth some local friends. The welcome from Ruth and Daren was as warm as last time. We mainly had roast beef, although one had the cod which looked delicious, it was cooked to perfection, as was the Sunday roast. The succulent beef was accompanied...

Visited the Rock Inn for both lunch and dinner. Very warm welcome from the owners. A bright dining room and bar with atmosphere. The food was excellent......the local sausages are special.... We were sussing it out for a visit with a group of 10 next month when we are staying in the area, and we would have no hesitation in...

This is a very, very nice place indeed. I'm surprised the chef hasn't got a Michelin star yet! The food was outstanding. The room was very clean and pleasant and I would have no problems staying here again or recommending this place to anyone 😊
