Couldn't believe the room I was given. The window was open so it was freezing cold, the old electric heater was broken and the light switch was hanging off the wall. I turned around and left. Can't imagine what any tourist would think.

Dtayed there on business last September. Basic enough rooms in a hotel which could do with some investment. That said very good price for b&b. Service friendy and food ok in bar and at breakfast. Seems to survive on coach trips. Off street parking is tight due to coaches.

Do not judge this one by its cover! The Abbey Hotel is a welcoming, family-run hotel, with great service, generous helpings of home-cooked food, warm bedrooms with white bed-linen and towels, and an excellent breakfast! Off-street parking and free WiFi. Bedrooms equipped with kettle, hairdryer, and toiletries. Staff were welcoming and friendly throughout our 2-night stay.

We really enjoyed our 4 day break at The Abbey Hotel, it's a very Irish experience! The staff really are genuine, nice people that enjoy their work and have time to help with advice for trips or sightseeing. That said we would recommend the use of mat's for showers in The Annex rooms, quite slippery shower trays.A bin in bathroom would be a good addition. Good food, friendly locals it's Ireland. Enjoy..
