This was overpriced for what you got. The owner is friendly and helpful. Very basic room with small kitchenette. Needs updating but it was clean. Noticed the upstairs level, the roof was falling in. Not sure if they are about to renovate or it is falling apart. Very wet and cold on arrival and were thankful for a good heater....

The room was worn but very clean. The owner(?) was really helpful and everything was in order when we came. The really bad thing was the noise from Highway 1. It sounded like the trucks was driving through our room.

We drove 4.5 hours from Whangarei to help celebrate a friends birthday. The room was perfect for my friend and I, lovely walk in shower, good water pressure, comfortable unit with friendly manager. A good experience

Awful, would not recommend this motel. Dusty room with a musky smell even towels had a smell. 😁. Price was way too high for the kind of accommodation. Sink was broken in kitchenette. Mattress uncomfortable. Couldn't sleep all night. Would recommend a drive to Matamata but one has to prebook.

It's the only motel in Tirau. I asnt the expecting a high standard but it needs a really good clean. I can put up with tired and dated decor for a night but the unit is filthy. The bathroom was a disgrace. The bed was comfortable enough but I agree with other reviewers. I'd give this a miss and carry...

I would like some specifics on the dirt in the bathroom please. I can not clean what I have not been shown. And yes it would be nice if the owner would spend some money on his asset... Regards Julia

Having now traveled around nz for nearly 6 weeks, mainly in motels, I feel I have to comment on this particular establishment. Why is the rate 115 dollars a night for the standard you receive? Everything looks very tired, big old fashioned TV, mismatcing towels etc that were that worn should only be used as floor cloths, bed although looked clean...

The cost that we charge is based on a industry norm and I will state that none of the towels I use are , at this point, over two years old. I apologise for the miss match, as we have three different colours in operation at present, some of my cleaners like to deliberately not match as a quirk. Rest...

Unit décor VERY dated. Bathroom had nowhere to put clothes/toilet bags. No cupboard in kitchen area and all crockery and cutlery was just sitting on the tiny bench alongside the sink - not at all ideal given the number of flies in the unit. Said bench had old non-fitting tiles on it which had ingrained dirt around the edges. When...

I am disappointed that you were so unhappy at our motel, but I have never in the ten years I have been here ever mentioned cockroachs, I also can not remember giving you flyspray in recent times, perhaps in the summer, the luggage rack on the wall has coat hangers for hanging clothes, and a hook behind the bathroom door....

Stayed here one night. Unit was dated with old furniture, which was not a problem. But the state of cleanliness in the unit was disgusting. Bathroom was dirty especially sink and bath. Utensils in kitchen were dirty. Linen on bed especially pillowcases looked like they hadn't been changed from last occupants. Found dirty tissues on bedroom floor. Very expensive as...

I am disappointed that you were unhappy and still remained. The decor was produced by the original owner as a theme motel, Pioneer Accommodation was the phrase he used. My frustration is that: I am now onto the third owner in the ten years, and to date none are prepared to update the facilities, I can only provide the chattels,...

The unit was in need of upgrading but the bed was comfortable and the unit was central for our needs. Unfortunately we needed medical assistance during our stay and the manager was helpful and considerate in that regard.
