This charming Gasthaus is a great place to stop for the night. The rooms are spacious as we had the suite. The restaurant for dinner offers local dishes with a salad bar with many choices. The breakfast is fantastic with a wide variety of choices. The staff is excellent. We will return.

Stayed here while en route from Munich back home to Switzerland. It was exactly as "written on the tin" - a comfortable, spotlessly clean room with an excellent restaurant for dining which also served a very fine breakfast in the morning. All very reasonably priced. Highly recommended!

We stayed here as a stopover to break our journey. Room was OK but shower room was tiny. Breakfast was great - Nowhere nearby to visit but would stay again as a stopover. Bavaria do great salads as starter and nice desserts, but their main dishes are unimaginative and sloppy

The room was lovely, spacious clean and comfortable, however there was a wedding on and we were quickly checked in without much of a welcome. I had to go back to reception for the wifi details and I preordered a bottle of prosecco via booking.com which was not provided either which was frustrating as we were recently engaged and celebrating.

We arrived in a beautiful town that smelled a lot like manure on a hot day. Initially, my husband and I laughed about it. Then we were taken to our 4th floor attic room which was even hotter and smellier than the ground. There wasn't a way to cool the room expect to open the windows. As one can imagine,...

My family and I stayed here as part of a Germany/Switzerland/Austria tour during Easter. This was our first stop-off after arriving in Munich. The town of Waal is very pretty and very typical of a Bavarian country village. There is a small stream with a water wheel in front of the property with the main market square just beyond (like...

The staff is nice and they eant to do everything to accomodate your needs. But boy...they need to learn about the silence. Stayed in the main building and the staff was running up and down the stairs slamming the door at 10pm. Also...could hear fans from other room, mattress is so old ..my back hurted for another couple days. Cold...

Waal is a very nice little town and lots of walks in area. The Guest House has very nice rooms in the annex. Please note that it is a farming community with farm animals basically in town. Breakfast and Dinner was good.

My wife and me can only confirm what the other reviewers wrote. The Gasthaus zur Post in Waal is a very nice place with friendly staff. We stayed one night during a longer road trip; it's close to the highway A96 and the surroundings are very nice; great also for dog walks. The village is pretty, with a couple of...
