Always love visiting. You don't need good weather as the house and spa are so cosy. We had both - a storm one day and tropical heat the following! Thanks to the staff for being so friendly and attentive.

We stayed here for two nights last week after we just got engaged and we really enjoyed it. Screebe is quaint and in a stunning location. Our room was kindly upgraded and we had the most amazing views over the bay. The staff were so friendly and helpful and really did their best to make sure we had everything we wanted and needed to enjoy our stay. I had a beautiful massage with Wendy and it was just divine. The menu here is short but it's extremely fresh food cooked to perfection and there is a great wine selection that was very reasonably priced. Yes there's no TV in the rooms but it's really a place to switch off and relax and its just so peaceful. We found the WiFi to be very good. The pool and spa area are really gorgeous and while we visited in the time of COVID we felt safe and there were lots of sanitiser posts about the house. We had a pigsback voucher and we had no issues at all with it. Everything and everyone was lovely and we look forward to visiting again!

Just returned from 2 wonderful nights in Screebe House with my husband. From the moment we arrived, we easily slipped in to “relaxed” mode. The staff were so lovely and helpful and the setting is just stunning. We really enjoyed the sea weed baths and I particularly enjoyed being able to go back and over several times from the seaweed bath directly into the sea from the little pier. It was such a treat. indeed the whole spa was so conducive to relaxation.
We dined both nights in the restaurant and the menu was small but perfectly formed. They had a beautiful selection of wines and a fab cocktail list too. Breakfasts were just fab too. I’d go back in a heart beat but hope that the secret doesn’t get out to too many people. Well done to all at Screebe House.

A couples overnight last minute dbb to celebrate a birthday. Beautiful surroundings enhanced by fine weather. Friendly welcome (all staff smiley and helpful throughout our stay). Room pleasant (stayed in no.2 which is a smaller double), bed not as comfortable as expected - not terrible but the mattress could do with being changed.

Great sea swim followed by a hot tub soak. Indoor pool, sauna and seaweed baths also available. An excellent amenity.

We had a drink before dinner - my wife chose a prosecco based cocktail that was served unimaginatively in a standard wine glass. Expected some kind of flourish for a 12 euro drink.

Dinner was OK - not better than that. Only 2 choices per course. Highlight was the amuse bouche. Lowlight was an unappetising coffee cake that didn't have a hint of coffee in it and was left after a couple of spoonfuls. Breakfast was good if a little slow (coffee pot cold by the time it arrived).

We were hoping that Screebe would be our destination escape in Connemara. Might be worth the trip for the spa / sea swim and lunch, but not overnight.

We have just returned home after spending three fabulous nights in this beautiful Hotel.
From the first moment of arrival, to the last moment before we left, everything was just perfect.

This Hotel, is truly a hidden gem in South Connemara, a little oasis of calm, tranquil peaceful surroundings, like time, stood still.

Our room was divine with amazing views and the bed was just so comfortable.
All meals were outstanding, food cooked beautifully and excellent service.
The Spa was just excellent and my facial was first class.

Ursula and her team, ensure all your needs are met and much more besides, her eye to detail and what her guests may want is always provided.
Nothing is too much trouble and done with willingless and a smile.
The atmosphere is both warm and welcoming, we so look forward to our return visit.

1 star for the excellent girls, Aoibhe and Niamh, such lovely girls and couldn't do enough for us.
1 star for the setting... beautiful and relaxing
1 star for the company of a lovely woman from Cork

Minus 1 star... Food was so disappointing, 2 main choices for main course, Monkfish or chicken curry! Desert was sorbet or chocolate mousse!

Minus 1 star... When I questioned the fee for the spa on the day we were leaving, I felt the lady was being a little smart saying "it's on our website, we don't hide anything" Yet, she did not want us to use it before we left as they had to clean it for the guests arriving. However, when we went to the spa on the day we arrived, there was towels and dressing gowns thrown around, someone actually took my dry dressing gown while I was in the hot tub.
Over all we were very disappointed as my brother and his wife who were home from America loved it last year. I felt the owner was gone away so didn't get the same attention to detail.

Fabulous stay home away from home with the lovely Ursula and her home-grown team on the Wild Atlantic Way, Connemara.
Screebe House, one of the former hunting lodges of Ballinahinch Castle, lovingly preserved - no modern guestrooms, all ten bedrooms in the original house.
The only noticable modern addition is the wonderful Screebe Spa - steam with a picture window giving onto the Atlantic and then either dip in the state of the art swimming or plunge into the gloriously refreshing sea at garden's end

Our charity cycle group stopped for coffee & scones on our Wild Atlantic Way cycle. We were close to 100 people and John Joe and the team were super welcoming with loads of tasty scones, still warm from the oven - delicious! We got to sit overlooking the water enjoying the fantastic views from the terrace - we didn't want to leave! This place is a gem and many of our group were remarking they would love to come back for a stay. They were a pleasure to deal with from booking to payment and all our cyclists were super positive about their experience in our short but enjoyable stop. Thank you John Joe & team!

We recently spent one night at the hotel while on an independent bicycle trip around Galway. The setting is spectacular; the views from the rooms and outdoor seating areas are spectacular. The rooms are a lovely mix of traditional and modern and well-maintained. The staff is very welcoming and clearly aim to please. We did not use the pool/spa building but the facility is new and amazing. The food was excellent - we had a terrific dinner and a beautiful breakfast. We would recommend Screebe House wholeheartedly, at least in mild weather. There is no airconditioning and one needs to close the windows at night to avoid mosquitos and midges. Therefore, we found the room quite warm and stuffy overnight, but thankfully we were not there during the recent heat wave.

We only stayed one night but, so relaxing was our time there, it felt like a longer break. Ideally located in the wilds of Connemara, it is a great base for exploring the boreens, lakes mountains, bays and little harbours that make up this beautiful corner of Ireland. Coyne's Gastro pub is a short drive away for a delicious lunch.
The atmosphere is calm, serene even, indoors and out. The staff are lovely; special mention to Íde, Wendy and Niamh for their service.
Ursula is the epitome of the perfect host. She keeps a close eye on everything, serving tables, engaging with guests, explaining the menu thoroughly and making sure your stay is top notch. Dinner and breakfast were exquisite.
We can't wait to go back.
