My wife and I stayed at Swanson House for one night at the beginning of October and had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Our welcome from Pat was so warm and friendly we knew straight away that we had made the right choice. We were staying in the large double room which had a sitting area and a TV. There were...

We are a retired couple and stayed at Swanson House en route to visit a friend in the Lake District. We usually stay in hotels for holidays, but as this was for one night only, thought we'd give Swanson House a try, especially as it got such good reviews on Booking.com. We were certainly not disappointed. Pat, the owner, emailed...

Our two night stay at Swanson House was a huge success. We enjoyed our spacious double room with its sitting area and quite separate en suite bathroom. Every detail was provided for and more Pat's warm welcome and hospitality, not to mention her local knowledge, was a further plus. Her evening meals were quite excellent, too, and very good value....

We stayed at Swanson House for a Friday night in October 2014 booked through Booking.com. We received an email booking confirmation from the owner Pat and chose our evening meal from her fantastic menu. We arrived tired and achey after a long walk around Kirkby Stephen and were warmly greeted by Pat who showed us to our room. The room...

We stayed for one night when doing the C2C walk. Pat is a charming, friendly host and the room, the food, the facilities were first class. She goes way above the norm and I just wished I could have stayed one more night. The room was wonderful and the food absolutely delicious - do eat there.. Lots of lovely touches.....

Best Band B on the C2C. Pat is delightful and collects you from Kirkby Stephen for the 10 minute drive to Brough and returns you the next morning. The accommodation ( 2 rooms ) is absolutely gorgeous, very spacious light and comfortable with a huge bedroom and lovely generous bathroom. There were welcome cakes for our group of four, loads...

Stayed one night at Swanson House. Lovely B&B ,very clean and great breakfast. Had friends stopping at nearby Augill castle and would not have swapped them. Wish we had had the evening meal there and not at the Castle.

I had to attend a job interview recently in Brough and decided to stop here. If you are thinking about it, do it! I will definitely again. From the moment I walked in I was made to feel welcome. The food was absolutely wonderful (Game Pie in the evening, Full English Breakfast in the morning), and Pam is a wonderful...
