Ulagalla is in a beautiful setting of 57 acres. While eating breakfast we saw wild peacocks, monkeys and lots of birds. The grounds are very well maintained. You can ride round on bicycles but we quite often walked to the restaurant. Buggies are readily available. They have a large number of staff on hand, all very friendly, smiling and helpful....

Aspects of this resort are perfection: the setting, the staff, the pool, the wildlife, the food. There were a couple of distractions, the first being the A/C in our initial cottage neither worked nor was fixable. A miscommunication [language] kept us in the cottage while they staff attempted to fix. We finally balked in the heat and received profuse apologies...

We stayed here for 3 nights on a tour of Sri Lanka. We had stayed in smaller boutique hotels prior to this but found the staff just as helpful and friendly. I would have no hesitation recommending this as a place to stay. The lodge was really private, spacious, great layout with a lovely lounge and massive bedroom - it...

After a week spent at boutique hotels, I wasn't sure what to expect from three nights at the slightly larger Ulagalla - it was just perfect. We were allocated lodge 21, which is right at the end of the avenue, completely secluded and wonderfully private. Your neighbours are birds, giant squirrels, chipmunks and the occasional monkey! We made full use...

This was our second stop of a 10 day holiday in Sri Lanka - our third in recent years. After o/nite in Colombo our wonderful driver, Denver (denver_hamer @yahoo.com) drove us safely to Ulagalla where we were met by Francisco Tamagnini the GM. He had promised some 'bells & whistles' which turned out to be a magnificent chalet (?) in...

Uga Ulagalla is a lovely property with separate villas beautifully surrounded by lush foliage. Our villa had a separate living room, a roomy bathroom, and a very nice bedroom that looked out on trees and a personal dipping pool. The villas are scattered over the 54 acre property and one can choose to walk from one's villa to the main...

An enchanting hotel four hours north of colombo. The location is far removed from the hustle of Columbo. The green, bucolic setting and landscape is soothing for body and spirit. The quiet and solitude broken only by the call of peafowls and other exotic birds and wildlife. The staff is friendly and attentive and the food outstanding. The individual bundalows...

Not a bad word to say about this place, everything is exceptional. The friendly staff go out of their way to look after you, the food is absolutely delicious, and the rooms are incredible. We had a private plunge pool which was secluded from other villas, but felt like we were in the middle of the jungle, letting us watch...
