One of my best destinations in all seasons but best in summer. Super hotel with superb staff and great ambience. A must if you happen to be in Portugal. Beautiful marina and great beaches. Delicious food and a handy carpark. All in all a magnificent place to be whenever you have the time.
Not a 4 star hotel anymore. Used to be, but the service is not at 4 star level and employees should get more training and image awareness. One day the room was not cleaned even after talking to reception. With small kids making a mess this is a problem. Reception did nothing and another employee said “it’s not my responsibility”. Pool bar food is a joke at 5 star prices - do not eat there. Animation team is great but they should be more hours available. There’s nothing for the kids or rest of family at early night and nothing on Sundays. Breakfast is great.
Excellent place! Sea views from the room is stunning Staff is so amicable, always happy to help. Breakfast was good, many choices Beach 5 minutes walking! Sometimes you can see the dolphins in the Sado river. Sea water is in a good temperature (18.5 degrees) Having a indoor swimming pool is a plus We had an amazing time!
Service is non-existent and slow. Location is wonderful and therefore it had lots of potential but it is not fully used. Poor lady of the bars… multi-bar-tasking. Rooms are space but some materials are very cheap (like in the toilets). Price vs quality is average… but it could be nice; it could!
Location is excellent because there is a very large and beautiful beach walking distance, shops are meters away and the marina with different water activities is also just there. Comporta is 10’ by car and the Roman Troia ruins are at 3 kms. Excellent for families with small kids because of logistics and animation. Has very good pool, including kids and indoor.very good
Considered a 4stars hotel probably someone is not doing his homework. Breakfast, weak very weak, only one type of juice, if you don't like orange juice...you have the option of drinking water 🤔.food cold (eggs). And completely not organized, no plates, glasses etc Dinner expensive with low quality, and again...food cold... not admissible. During the day we decided to have a quick meal in the pool bar.....are you kidding with me? Prices like I used to pay in a really 4stars hotel. (As example I asked if they served half doses of fries😒,and the result was the same... I had to pay The apartment it wasn't to bad but4 stars...really someone is not doing his job. The very good exception was the room cleaning...very good, nice job.
This was our third visit to beautiful Tróia.This hotel is rated 4 star & after extensive worldwide travel I would rate it a 3 star. The hotel needs a lot of work. Very disappointed. For example requesting a new toilet seat on day one of our stay!!!! Yuck !!! And no action it gives some idea how below standard it was. The only redeeming feature was the kind staff in the breakfast restaurant. Will not return.
We are on our last night at the Aqualuz Troia Lagoa Hotel and Apts. Apt 1401. Please do not make the same mistake as us. Our check in took 50 mins and once in our suite we found dirty tables, bathroom flood damage, finger prints on mirrors, windows and the toilet flush. We went back to reception to complain or resolve but the queue at reception was so long that we went and bought cleaning items at that supermarket! The most stressful start to a holiday ever! The hotel does not follow Covid-19 safety measures. We did not feel safe on arrival to our apartment. Our apartment was cleaned today and our young sons blanket which he’s has since birth (which was on his bed) has been taken by mistake and is currently lost! He is upset. We are now leaving this place one day early to somewhere nicer where they care more about their guests. …
I stayed 30 days with my wife at Amendoeira Golf Resort in Alcantarilha, Algarve. On our way back home from Lisbon we stayed one night in Troia and played two rounds at Troia Golf. You can find my review of the golf course elsewhere in TripAdvisor. Our apartment in the 11th floor of Aqualuz Troia Mar & Rio Suite Hotel was spacious and offered spectacular views to both sides of the Troia Peninsula. The reception staff made us feel welcome from the very first moment. Because it was end of February there were not many choices for a dinner restaurant. We had pizza in the Italian restaurant Il Palato for dinner and breakfast in the breakfast room of the hotel. Our car stayed overnight in the spacious underground garage under the hotel. The Troia Golf Course designed by the renowned course architect Robert Trent Jones Sr. has the 8th place in Golf World’s ranking list ’Top 100 Golf Courses in Continental Europe 2019’! This was the reason why we came here. Troia Golf is a wonderful golf course with magical and visually spectacular setting. Although it’s located off the beaten track it’s certainly worth a visit and the detour. If you are in the area, play it. Aqualuz Troia Mar & Rio Suite Hotel provides you with a comfortable accommodation.…
I have just stayed in this apartment/suite with my daughter whilst she was playing golf nearby. On a positive note, first impressions are great, room was large with a fantastic view. Shuttle between golf course and apartment really good, we seemed to always get the same driver and he was fab. Not so good : I found the reception staff unwelcoming and miserable, I felt it was as if they were doing me a favour and really didn't want to be there. If you like a hard mattress then great, but for me it was rock solid and not comfortable. Kitchen doesn't get cleaned daily, unlike the rest of the apartment. WiFi in room didn't work. Toilet seat chipped therefore unhygienic. Breakfast average/poor. Early tee time no breakfast (even continental offered) TV terrible reception, remote batteries dead and even though I asked never replaced. …
