The appeal of any country inn or pub is bound to vary according to the seasons. What may be attractive on a warm summers day may lose its charm in the depths of winter. The Nevill Arms however seems to have enough going for it in all seasons. It is an attractive looking building with a cosy interior olde world...

I have stayed a few times when away on Business but will be bring the family back. The rooms are extremely well finished and the homemade biscuits left in the room are eaten before I take my jacket off. The bar has a lovely atmosphere and has a great range of traditional beers to choose from. Food is exceptional. Cold...

I stayed the night a lady lost her handbag. What a scene this created in the pub. The locals took it in their stride but I found the whole thing very offputting to any enjoyment of my stay. So much so I didn't bother with dinner. Breakfast in the cafe was a quieter affair. Room was clean and with a...

Management response:

Dear Guest We can quite understand how this incident put you off The 'lady' in question was visiting the village for a very short (thankfully) stay from Australia I can honestly say, that with two Inns, and 17 years in this industry, we have never had such an unfortunate disturbance before I arrived shortly after the lady had left, (having...

We stayed in the 4 poster bedroom which was beautiful. We particularly liked the stunning bed with its luxurious sheets, and the small touches like the chef made shortbread biscuits and proper china mugs on the hospitality tray. If I were being picky you could say the bathroom didn't quite live up to the room itself - there was no...

Stayed here for a Friday night as we were in the area. Welcome was warm and friendly, room was comfortable and clean. Into the bar for pre dinner drinks, great atmosphere and wood burner, kept waiting for about 1 minute for the drinks and got an apology which really wasn't required for 1 minute wait! Dinner order taken and shown...

Visited with 5 good friends. Cold night but warm welcome form all staff. We were early so the venue was not crowded but very comfortable and pleasing. Menu and specials gave ample choice and the cooking and presentation were excellent. A good time was had by all and we look forward to a return at some time in the future.

Booked this place as we were booked into a race day nearby. Staff and food were great!!! Lovely place. Surrounds were lovely and the room was fab (we had room 11). Would happily come back. Great for a couples night away as you can drink in the pub then have great meal and lovely room.

Great lunch sat at picnic bench next to stream; good beer, good food, dog friendly....just right after a short stroll from nearby campsite. Popular with walkers, families, dog owners and with a good menu to choose from.
