As you drive into Castlereigh Family Cottages the view is captivating. Completely immersed in nature. The rooms are comfortable and spacious with a beautiful view of the Reservoir. There are a few cottages under construction, so this place has huge potential. This was an all inclusive stay, so there was limited choice for each, but must admit the food was...

In the process of being upgraded, this place is going to be awesome when the snagging gets completed and the brand new restaurant and bungalows settle down a bit. Meanwhile, it's still a lovely place to stay; fine views, exceptionally helpful and friendly staff (especially Manoj, the caretaker), delicious food, a really pleasant atmosphere.

After Ella, Hatton's Castlereigh Family Cottages was our next pit-stop.We had some dreary cold and wet days behind us as the highlands was experiencing an unusual wet spell. It was still raining when we arrived and we were a little uncertain how the weather was going to affect our stay over the next few days. All worries flew out the...

We spent two nights here after traveling the highlands and climbing Adams peak. It was the best spot to recover and to enjoy the silence. Directly located in the middle of a tea plantation, at a lake and far away from any civilization the cottages gave us a lovely felling of peacefulness and silence. Garnesh, the manager, served us the...

We stayed here 2 nights in October. It was off season, so rainy in the afternoon, but the mornings were stunning. The cottages are away from hatton, in a peaceful spot and the reservoir is stunning. Ganesh the owner is SO friendly and helpful, as are all the staff working there. They would so anything to help you and made...

Our family stayed at the Castlereigh Family Cottages before ascending to Adam's peak. Though it took us one hour drive to start the climb, staying at Castlereigh Family Cottages was worth the effort. Upon arrival we were welcomed by Ganesh and his friendly and dedicated staff which took care of all our needs. The Cottages are located on the shores...

The location is amazing, private cottage surrounded by tea plantations on the shore of the lake. The food was easily the best we've had in Sri Lanka cooked to any degree of spice. The staff are very friendly and the owner was so helpful with everything we asked for. Couldn't recommend more highly.

Castlereigh cottages are just one of the most marvelous place we've stayed in Sri Lanka so far. Everything from our arrival to our emotional departure was completely outstanding. Ganesh and his lovely and highly dedicated staff made everything run close to perfection. The cottages are located in front of a peaceful lake and endless tea plantations, they are very well...

The two Castlereigh Family Cottages, almost Alpine in appearance, occupy a quiet and tranquil elevated shoreline setting in rural hill country just south of Dickoya. The cottages make a good base for an ascent of Adam's Peak the next morning, the Dalhousie starting point being about an hour's drive away. Our cottage (Cottage 1 on the website), whilst a little...

We chose to stay here as we were looking for a two bedroom place close to the tea plantations. The cottage is in a great setting overlooking the reservoir and it is right in the middle of the tea plantations. The staff are really friendly here and accommodated all our requests. We had breakfast and dinner here and the food...

“If you'd like a particular meal when you arrive just call ahead and tell Mr.ganesh. Also, cottage 1 is ideal for a family of 4. 2 is great for about 8. there's a great loft that the kids can sleep in and its their own private playhouse.”

“The only small criticism I have to the place was that the bathroom in the back bedroom had an unfortunate sewage smell (typical of Sri Lankan plumbing, I later discovered). If you keep the lid on the commode closed and keep the bathroom door closed then it's not really a bother. Also, hot water for showers can be limited so leave some time between showers for the water to heat up.”

“1. Book cottage 1, it is the better one, cottage 2 is more suited to a bunch of guys roughing it out. 2. This is castlereigh FAMILY cottages. the name is important as there are other variations along the way. 3. Take your own shampoo/toothbrushes but towels will be provided 4. It is about 25 mins away from Food city in hatton, which is quite well stocked”
