Recently stopped by for tea on our way home from the lakes. Couldn't find a single fault with the place, lovely ambience, friendly staff (nothing was any trouble) and the grub... well it was absolutely superb, I had the fish & chips which I can honestly say I've never had better and my wife and kids went for pizza which...

It's only a short distance from where we live but a special gourmet evening warranted an overnight stay and it was faultless. The meal was quite sublime with guest chef Colin Acrigg ably assisted by Mark and Adam with a superb matching selection of wines. The rooms are large and very comfortable with modern bathrooms and a large shower, instant...

Just picked a random stop off on route to Scotland, found this one from Booking.Com Arrived late afternoon, settled into adequate en suite room with a large shower (one you can actually turn round in), then enjoyed a few of the local brewed beers. Returned after a rest to experience an excellent meal and some more local ale. The staff...

We had a very enjoyable overnight stay. The inn is located in a very quiet little village easily accessible from the M6. The atmosphere in the bar was jovial and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. There were real ales on tap and the food was good - but beware, the dishes come in Cumbrian portions - be sure...

Went on a busy Saturday night a fortnight before Christmas. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Food was fresh and well cooked. Had a good choice of meals from regular as well as Festive menu. Food was very reasonably priced, portion sizes were spot on.

Tried out the Christmas menu today and we weren't disappointed. The room was tastefully decorated, the food was excellent and the service first class. We would definitely recommend a visit and we will be returning.

We booked this as somewhere to break up a long journey from the south of England to the north of Scotland and were very pleased we did. Due to traffic issues at one point we thought we would be arriving well after 11:00pm so we phoned ahead and they reassured us it wouldn't be a problem. The staff we exceptionally...

We booked a recently refurbished rooms for 6 people as a base for a planned walk. I can not fault the place at all. The room with 3 bunk beds was clean and comfy with two excellent private bathrooms with fantastic showers across the hall. The staff were friendly and accommodating and when we added a seventh person at the...
