We arrived early evening of Tuesday 28th July and was greeted Marie and Roger the owners. After being shown to what can only be discribed as a truly beautiful Chateau we took time to explore our room and grounds. Our Son and Daughter in law had booked the whole place for the week with their wedding blessing being on Saturday...

We rang the chateau at short notice and told Marie-Monique that we had a dog with us, knowing that this might put the owners off. Not a bit of it - I think Harry swung it for us to stay: the owners like dogs and have two of their own. Roger and Marie-Monique said they would book somewhere for us...

Roger and Marie-Monique have somehow blended luxury and beautiful taste with what is even more elusive, a warm welcome of true friendship. You feel as if they knew they were your friends all along, you'd just momentarily forgotten. We turned up hot and bothered on a Tuesday late afternoon to be welcomed with drinks and nibbles on the terrace 'shall...

Roger and Marie were the pefect hosts, blending informality and attention to detail. Their welcome was second to none. The location, accommodation and home cooking exceeded our (high) expectations A real 'gem' in the unspoilt countryside of Le Perche. We will be back!

We wanted to get out of Paris for a few days and heard great things about Le Perche region. A friend of ours had stayed at Le Chateau de la Mouchère and we had been meaning to check it out for a while. We arrived late on a Monday night and had a beautiful dinner cooked by Marie-Monique. She knew...

When we eventually found this Chateau, which apparently has no signs or directions we found a lovely house in spacious gardens and with adjacent walks in the woods surrounding. The owners an Englishman and his french wife previously lived in Ripe in Sussex. Dogs were welcomed and their own dogs were friendly and came for a walk with us. |Unfortunately...

My fiancé and I have had the pleasure of visiting 3 times, we only wish it could have been more. La Mouchere is a beautiful manor house, full to the brim with charm, character & tranquillity. Each of the rooms, with stunning views over the French countryside, has been lovingly decorated to a very high standard. Outside, the meticulously well-kept...

Each and every time we come to la Mouchère, we recall that Arcadia exists somewhere in le Perche. This is the perfect place to escape from the feverish tensions of the world and take a deep breath in this realm of books, warmth and lovely nature with above all exquisite if not unique hosts or even, I daresay, friends.

A very fine place tucked away in the countryside. This little 'get away' was perfect after a hectic noisy stay in Paris. Surrounded by farms it was an idyllic place to re-charge and catch up on one's reading. Spent three wonderful days there. Drove around the little villages and towns of the area – taking in the French rural atmosphere....

The stately manor house, the terrace, the park, the surrounding landscape: the whole scenery has an enchanting quality, which is completed by a remarkable interior - tasteful art deco furniture, spacious and comfortable rooms, a huge kitchen: the overall impression of la Mouchère is one of relaxed generosity. Add to this the uncomplicated friendliness of the hosts, the copious breakfast,...
