It is an oasis outside Jakarta to spend relaxing time from routine life. But don't be surprised that you will not feel such luxury although you are paying from premium. In land facility should be upgraded / renew .

Our trip to Pulau Macan was beyond expectations. The accommodation (we were in the Island hut) was the most romantic I ever stayed at with a deck with stairs over the sea. In the morning we got out of bed, took 5 steps and 4 stairs and we were standing in the sea watching the sunrise. I've been traveling in... More

We stayed at Palau Macan for one night and 2 days in the brick hut. While Palau Macan doesnt have a beach as such, although you can take a short walk, swim or paddle across to their other island which has a beach, the location is breathtaking! The reef is right on the doorstep of the island and you can... More

The ferry ride to the island was one of the roughest rides I have had ever. the sea war rough and the ferry was packed with people. It was hot and stuffy and the rough sea made it worse. Almost threw up. It goes island hopping so you could be 2nd or 5th. Once on the island we started to... More

To be honest, I was quite shocked by how dirty it was when I arrived. We were greeted by the staff with some sandwiches and drinks which had like 100 flies on it. Not very hygienic...this did get better as one of the guests complained about it. Be aware that no one on the island speaks English. If you are... More

A small island 2 hours speedboat ride away from Jakarta located in 1000 islands. Blue sea surounding the island. Trees & lot's variaty of wildlife on the island. We were welcomed by a big biawak (big lizzard) that pass our cabin quietly. They are afraid to human so they run away if the see us closely. If you are quite... More

I visited in Jan with my mom, brother & sister... it was absolute bliss. Spent the days lazing in the sun, swimming and snorkling in the crystal waters. Getting there & back was a little hair-raising... but worth it & added to the excitement of our trip.

Almost total isolation after a long speedboat ride. Well designed premises and an overall good job in creating the eco resort. A bit pricey for whats offered but its different from the other islands in the area. Warm waters and clean beaches on the adjacent islands.

We stayed here for two nights after a few days in Jakarta. Once though the chaos and disorganisation of Pier 17 at Marina Ancol we were put on a boat (after giving our names to a lady near the reception building) to Pulau Macan. I'd recommend getting to the Marina early, and checking in with the staff there. If we... More

I went there in August 2015 with my husband and daughter (13 yo). Started my trip from Marina Pier, Ancol, Jakarta at 8.00 a.m. The boat was late for 45 minutes. We spent approximately 2 hours to reach Tiger Island, since we need to drop off some visitors to other different islands such as, Pramuka Island, Harapan Island, etc. When... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are a simple island based lodge / eco resort in an unbelievably gorgeous location (especially considering how close we are to Jakarta). We have 6 open air huts and 3 cottages with two rooms each on our main island. We also have two small camp sites - one on our main island and one on our little deserted island. We do our best to be eco-friendly and are experimenting with efficient energy initiatives, natural building techniques, island based organic farming, coral planting, rain water harvesting, water efficiency, and local educational and economic initiatives to boost quality of life for the communities in our region. We also prioritise food and do our best to keep it delicious AND healthy. Ultimately, we hope to make you feel at home and hopefully inspired by a little pocket of bliss on the doorstep to Jakarta. ... more   less
