As crew of a TV production from the Netherlands we've all stayed in Yabbiekaju for almost a month. I stayed in the Pondok Kayu. Although much simpler than the rest of the bungalows it really felt like a home away from home. The bed is good and the room and bathroom are always clean. The bed has a mosquito net....

What tempted me about the pictures of the property when I decided to book my stay at Yabbiekayu, was it's simple charm, traditional styled bungalows, the view of the paddy fields around. And when a friend also recommended the place, I was sold. Yabbiekayu exceeds expectations, and every good review here holds true. The staff (we interacted mostly with Babun,...

Thanks so much for the wonderful review. We are so pleased that you enjoyed our humble little guest house. We worry sometimes about having so many nice reviews that people may be disappointed, so it is always reassuring that we do seem to keep meeting expectations. I assure the team really does try and do their best! My apologies about...

A wonderful retreat. Loved the permaculture approach with flowing water around the bungalow, the flowers and traditional bungalows. The service was excellent and non-intrusive. So peaceful! We so enjoyed our visit

Thanks so much Patsavant for your lovely review. We don't tend to overly push our permaculture credentials, but permaculture thinking and sustainability form the basis of our edible landscaping and bungalow design. We try to incorporate these elements in ways that allow our guests to encounter our sustainability features as pleasant features and an extra added benefit rather than a...

Very romantic place in the outskirts of Yogyakarta. We stayed at an authentic Javanese cabin with an outdoor bathroom and private terrace. We absolutely loved it. Nothing beats sitting in the bath tub together underneath the stars! Super romantic! A delicious breakfast is included with the possibility to enjoy it at the private terrace at a small additional fee. Thank...

We stayed for five nights in the two level bungalow. The property is picturesque and situated in a rural environment, bordering on a local village and overlooking rice paddies. Yabbiekayu has a very relaxing atmosphere and all of the staff are really friendly, always smiling and willing to please. The Javanese style bungalows are very comfortable and the food served...

Thanks so much for your lovely review AustralianTraveller. It was lovely to get to host you. Tembi is an amazing spot for us to be based. I don't think you could get a nicer village to experience life in a small Javanese Islamic village. It really has been our honour to share this with so many guests. Thanks for your...

Everything was done to perfection, from the personal villas to the presentation of dishes, there's absolutely nothing I can complain about. The breathtaking scenery and village-type atmosphere really helped to shake off the stress of Jakarta that we'd experienced few days earlier. Couldn't help but feel like VIP while we were at Yabbiekayu.

I stayed for just over a week at Yabbiekayu and it was one of the most enjoyable travel experiences I've had. The homestay offers unique and authentic accommodation of reconstructed traditional teak bungalows in a new garden setting. Contemporary outdoor bathrooms and kitchens adding comfort and atmosphere. Everyone working at Yabbiekayu was thoughtful, insightful and helpful. Highly recommended.
