This is a great birding and wildlife location. Carry your binoculars and your camera at all times! Take as many of the boat excursions as you can fit in, with at least one morning and one night cruise. The boardwalk is awesome, and worthy of many walks, at all times of day or night. Walk out on the platforms and... More

Sukau Rainforest Lodge is definitely a hidden gem in the middle of Kinabatangan lowland rainforest! Took a 2 1/2 hrs overland transfer to the lodge via Lepit Jetty and this lodge is definitely a sweet surprise after what seems to be a long drive. The peaceful settings, the ambience, the friendly staff and the landscape of the lodge is so... More

Great Service, very nice People, awesome nature. We had a great time at the lodge. enjoy the real jungle with the very good guides out there. We really recommend the night ride with the boat and the boad walk behind the lodge. Give yourself enough time for the walk and you will see a lot of animals out there.

It was a very different way to get to the lodge, travelling by speedboat. The rainforest lodge was very unique and the activities and food were great. The staff were very friendly. Would definitely recommend

The resort sits on the banks of the Kinabatangan River and is certainly unique. The remoteness is beautiful and resort is well maintained, except for the boardwalk around the back of the resort, which is dangerous in the wet. The air conditioning was a problem as it cut off at 4pm so by the evening the rooms were quite hot.... More

This was the highlight of our three week trip around Borneo. The rainforest lodge is unique and like nowhere we had ever stayed before. It was literally breathtaking as we pulled up at the jetty. The whole place is just beautifully built and maintained. The staff are all lovely, especially Noah who works behind the bar! The food served is... More

We had a good feeling about this lodge as soon as we saw the jetty from our boat, and we weren't disappointed. This is a lodge that takes the wildlife experience seriously, but with a smile on its face. The introductory talk was from the resident naturalist, and included a demonstration of how to wear the sarongs that were provided... More

This is an extremely unique lodge! the rain forest around it just completely took my breath away. The staff were incredibly friendly and so knowledgeable about the area surrounding them. The guides tried really hard to help us see the wildlife we went there to see and were generally successful. It was an overall amazing experience and I'd definitely do... More

We had an amazing stay at this lodge with our 2 young children. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The tours were great, we saw orangutans by the water's edge and huge groups of proboscis monkeys not to mention the birds, bats, lizards, monkeys etc. There is even a family of orangutans that have made their home on the property.... Brought on the river, you arrive 2.5 hours after leaving Sandakan. On the way you will see noseapes, hornbills and possibly orangutans and crocodiles. The resort is small, 20 rooms and all food is served buffetstyle and of decent quality. The morning river trip will not disappoint, full of wildlife and if extremely lucky elephants makes getting up easy! The... More
