Mellieha bay was an amazing experience for me, spent 2 weeks there relaxing and exploring, how I went to the same place in 2018 and had an amazing experience also. But I met of the animation team there called Kate she was from London Birmingham so I am interested to find out if you guys have any links to her thank you :))
We have been to malta twice a year since 19 97 and past this hotel a number of times we decided to try it and stayed for a week 2019 it was a very good experience but sadly as now closed down the food was always good plenty of choice all rooms in the hotel have a Seaview which where amazing so many people will be sad by the closure of this golden haven
We had a wee break there in Oct 2019. The hotel was a bit run down & as one of the party in a wheelchair most of the time we found it not wheelchair friendly. The lift was in between floors so you either had to go up a small flight or down to get the lift. But not to worry I was told it was getting pulled down later that year. But back when it was built it was probably a decent hotel.
Excellent hotel, food was very good and varied. Only slight niggle was the that the rooms were not very well soundproofed. Could hear children running up and down the corridor even in the early hours of the morning. This is as much a parenting issue as the hotels problem.
we stayed here in october 2019 for a weeks holiday on a all inclusive basis ,our room was was clean we had a small balcony and a large fantastic view, the room along side the rest of the hotel was tired round the edges like a grand lady who needed to spend more time on herself yes there were places where it needed renovation and a lick of paint ,but you couldnt fault the staff for being proud of where they worked or their friendllness nothing was too much trouble the hotel was very clean and there was a great selection of food at all meals there was a cafe/bar where you could get sandwiches and snacks .there are 2 large out door pools and a indoor one , there is also a laundry room on the 1st floor ,entertainment was also on most nights , everything you need was available . getting out and about was easy there was a bus stop outside the hotel on the main road going to valleta where you could go anywhere on the island and the gozo ferry a bus pass for the week was i think 21 euros driving was easy too the hotel has a large car park i would stay at this hotel again without hesitation…
