I ordered a jacket potato with prawns and salad. I have never seen such a small jacket potato ever. My husband’s sandwich was supposed to be on sourdough bread but actually just cheap white loaf. Very disappointing lunch.

WONDERFUL STAFF AND SERVICE I have just completed a 3 night stay at the Red Lion. The staff have been absolutely fantastic!  All categories of staff have been consistently helpful, respectful and highly professional. I have been very impressed indeed. The manager, Craig, and his Assistant, Laura are clearly doing an outstanding job with their leadership, staff appointments and training. The food has been delicious too! I'll certainly be back for more.... Thank you Joe, a delighted customer.

Staying in the area and popped in for breakfast as they're website said they were dog friendly. We were made very welcome, as was our cockapoo Luna, they brought over a bowl of water and treats for her and breakfast was delicious. We then asked a very helpful member of staff of we could book a table again for that evening which was no problem. We returned for dinner again with our dog in toe and were welcomed and remembered from the morning. Food and drinks were excellent and service was outstanding, especially as we were eating in the bar area. We asked some advice for walks around the area and the very helpful supervisor on shift (sorry diddnt catch her name) wrote us a list of local parks and walks. All around excellent service. Thank you!

Thank you so much for making our wedding day so amazing. Laura and her team took care of every detail and we loved every second of our special day. We can’t begin to tell you how many people have said what a fantastic day it was, they all had a wonderful time and could not praise the venue enough. The food was fantastic and the service second to none. We could not recommend the Red Lion or team any higher.

You’d have thought this place would have done some changes during lockdown but no, dark dinghy and food much of a muchness, we waited over an hour for our main, My partner wasn’t impressed with his fish and chips. I had Salmon which I sent back due to being dry as a bone. We used to go here regular but we’re not going anymore as it gone right down hill. All I can say is grim. The Staff are very nice here so I think it’s a shame. that’s about the only good thing. I think the problem with this place is management lack of interest maybe? Stagnation maybe?
