Four year ago we stumbled across Gite la Richardier because it had an an amazing bakery that was very busy yet great distances from other towns. We tried to stay there on our way home from the North Coast Of Quebec but they were not surprisingly, full. This time we reserved long in advance and we were treated to two...

Although we shared a bath with friends, this fabulous B and B is so clean and civilized in an area with not much. Sophisticated - cappuccino and drinks available is a rarity around here- but not pretentious . Rooms are small but comfortable and the ferry to Matane is steps away. Owner couldn't be nicer... Take your shoes off but...

The Gite La Richardiere is an excellent place to stop enroute to take the ferry over to Matane, Quebec - or a great stop when exploring northern Quebec along the river. Claude makes you feel very welcome, and takes the time to show you around. The bedroom was lovely and the little extras (chocolates, water, toiletries, etc.) were much appreciated....

Our reservation was made by phone directly to the owner. We showed up, there was nobody there. We went to the only restaurant in town for dinner, came back and waited for hours and nobody showed up. At 21h00 we gave up, went back to the restaurant and they had a room for rent and we spent the night there....

The owner has put much love and work in to renovating this older home and it is gorgeously redone. He speaks English, was very friendly and welcoming. You also have the option of fine dining which unfortunately we missed. However, he did cook a fabulous breakfast for us. We would most definately return to this b&b if we return to...
