One can appreciate that with COVID restrictions, hotel stays will not be as relaxed as previous, but there’s no excuse for sheer inefficiencies. I can accept because of COVID that you’re expected to prebook times for breakfast. Surely the upside of that for the hotel, is that they know exactly how many, and when people are arriving for breakfast. So despite this, when I went up to it, Sunday mornings hot breakfast buffet, had no fried eggs, no sausages, no beans. The continental table had no fruit, no croissants, no pastries, and no milk for the cereal! And if you’re staying for more than one night, don’t expect your room to be serviced. Needless to say, we were not prewarned about that!

It was our 3 year anniversary and I proposed, I just want to say a MASSIVE thank you to all staff, the whole weekend was absolutely perfect 👏. Me & Stuart were basically "pen pals" since January planning the proposal. Nothing was an issue or too much trouble and the correspondence was appreciated. Proinnsias & Fergal (I hope I have spelt them right) set up the lounge in our suite, for 2 lads, I think they nailed it 👌🤣. Kazi, for such a young man, his manners and friendliness is beyond his years. Lauren, recommended a beautiful "short" walk on Saturday - it wasn't short 🤣 but it was fantastic. The food, ohh my days, absolutely incredible. It secured that Redcastle will be our wedding venue - as if the location, views and staff weren't enough, the food sealed the deal as we appreciate good food. I feel slightly bad for not mentioning every single member of staff we encountered over the weekend as ALL staff were so polite, friendly, welcoming and just fantastic. We always book Redcastle for our birthday/valentines/anniversary away together and the staff are a big part of the reason why we return.

Stayed in room 402 balcony suite, honestly the best experience I’ve ever had at a hotel from the girl at check in wish I could remember her name (checked in around 7/8 on 12 June who gave such a warm welcome and was great at her job. Room was beautiful and the view from the windows/balcony were just a dream. Breakfast was also great decided to have it delivered to the room as we didn’t want to leave the balcony. Everyone we came across had great customer service skills. Highly recommend this hotel. Also want to thank them for the drinks waiting in the room when we arrived defiantly made the arrival that bit better.

Arrived Saturday afternoon after check in time we were told the room was not ready yet and it would be 15/20 minutes decided to have a drink but with restrictions on board we didn't know whether to sit at a table or wait at the bar plenty of waiting staff but unsure as to what the procedure was. Eventually got our room that on our booking form was glass of bubbly on arrival rose petals in our room (no bubbly) 3 course meal also included. So location is fantastic but as nice as the room was it in need of an update. Also tea/ coffee tray in the room had sugar spilt on it from the package in other words had not been cleaned before we entered the room, hair clip on the floor dust around the tv cabinet area, bathroom sink water was slow to run away.3 course meal was fine apart from dessert my wife order supposed to be cheesecake/white chocolate and raspberry but it was like soft cheese on granola. Now staff where nice and pleasant and coped well under abit of pressure. Back in the bar area later on last call was11pm I ordered a brandy to round the evening off part my fault but came with ice which I told the waiter I didn't want ice so he returned afew minutes later just took the ice out and returned the same glass of brandy minus the ice. Now no one came near me for payment so as we left for our room I thought it will be added on when checking out!!!NO i received a call to my room30 minutes later past 12o,clock asking for payment i said I'll settle in the morning no not good enough I was asked to pay by card over the phone as the waiter repeated my card number aloud, sorry but I was totally embarrassed in which way it was handled. Sorry but as it was a gift from our family for 40th wedding anniversary cannot say we enjoyed it. Ps room number was noted by the waiter 706 so really no need to go to that extreme for €5 euro + . Just to end breakfast was very good 👌

Went on an overnight with five friends and it was fantastic. Check in staff were infirmative and friendly. The pool was enjoyable. Dining both at night and in the morning was delicious. The morning staff were very young but so good at what they did. Loved the 3 course dinner made better by the excellent views across the Foyle. The rooms were spacious but found the bed and the pillows to be the only down fall of my stay. Would highly recommend and will be returning soon.
