We were there only for a overnight trip. The place is clean and the staff is courteous. They offer basic rooms non AC at a very attractive rates. the climate is good all the year round, so one does not require AC in the rooms. The hotel does not have kitchen, so all the food right from Tea is to be arranged from outside. The hill station has very limited resources. We could not find Butter in any of the shops for breakfast. Food from ITL is good and at reasonable cost. Alcohol is not available at any place on the hill station. So you have to carry your stuff. Also, there is checking at the entry point. You are allowed to carry limited amount of Alcohol.

We have very few choices for accommodation in Nelliyampathy. While we planned for our visit all the other accommodations were full. Misty valley didn't seem good for family with infants & kids since no power from 11pm and leeches etc. Orange valley is located in the prime center of this small town. We didn't make any advance for booking but the caretaker/manager had blocked the room for us and the day while we visited the rooms were also not full. But by night all he rooms got booked. They have power backup in absence of electricity. We booked a suite room which has a double bedroom and a single bedroom with a small balcony. Room and bathroom was clean and decent. We paid 2250 per night. You don't have big restaurants in this town. Better to order food in advance in this hotel, they serve homemade Kerala style food. Food is decent, we liked all the dishes ordered with them, cheap too. Drinking Hot water is provided on request. Bathroom has water heater in workable condition. Altogether we had a good night stay at this location. Please do not expect a hi-fi types as this is a very normal hotel. Don't have high expectations and get disappointed.
