We went as a group of 10 for a meal and drinks, with children and dogs, and were made to feel very welcome. The food was all lovely, the service was exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the beer was good too. Well done, considering it was a big group that dropped by with only about an hours notice.

Stayed May 2016, a warm welcome by all the staff (under new management apparently). Nice old country pub, our room was a bit small but had everything we needed, well equipped en-suite bathroom, TV ( not always a good signal). Nice view of this lovely little village from our bedroom window at the front of the pub. Food was nice... More

We booked a long weekend break at The Crown Inn after visiting a few times over the years for meals. This is a wonderful relaxing pub in a lovely little village, with a friendly welcome everytime. Our room was comfy and the facilities excellent. The food is superb and the drinks many and varied. This is a very popular pub... More

My son booked himself and I in here for a one night stay using booking.com whilst he was in the Lakes on business and I could go walking. Unfortunately, the owners had cause to remove their tenant manager and his staff the previous day and they did not have access to the computerised booking system and as a consequence were... More

This was a stopover on our way up to Scotland and was booked fairly late. Brilliant choice as it worked out. We were welcomed by Colin who made us feel at home straight away. A nice fire going and we were closely looked after by Andrea who was working between restaurant and bar. Both of them were amazing. We thoroughly... More

Stayed at The Crown for one night this weekend following a last minute decision to get away. We had stayed there previously over a year ago and although delighted with the Inn itself, the location and the room, the Manager and the food left a lot to be desired. But due to the very reasonable rate we opted to give... More

My husband and I spent a lovely evening in The Crown. We were warmly welcomed and shown to a delightful room, comfy bed and smart ensuite. We had an excellent meal, with my family, who live locally. Interesting menu, and generous servings! We will be back to drink wine by the open fire. Thank you to Colin. Oh! Yes, breakfast... More

We thought the place & location were beautiful. As both lovers of old looking pubs and real ales we thought the bar and decor were fantastic, especially the open fires which gave the place a great smell. The food, although quite basic, was very good & resonably priced. We did however feel uncomfortable around the staff, we only met 2.... More

Great romantically themed food, presented beautifully & with a few little extra touches to the table decor to give a Valentine feel. The thoughtful meal was cooked perfectly with range of flavours & colour to suit the occasion. Attentive & welcoming. Imagine that the normal menu (looks inviting) is equally tasty & attractive to the eye. Thanks for lovely evening.... More

Just spent a wonderful weekend with Colin and staff at The Crown. I probably hadn't put too much research into where to stay, but knew we wanted a quiet weekend where if the weather wasn't great we could just chill and spend the majority of the time at the Inn. Fantastic result! Our room was really spacious, comfortable and the... More
