There is not one bad thing to say about Schurmans Shore. The most amazing hosts, that were ever present and yet never in your face. Imagine waking up every morning to the ocean right there out your window. Even though cottages are together, privacy has been maintained with well placed trees. They have seriously thought of everything and if there is something missing, just ask. Tide in and out, you always got the chance to walk the sandy shore looking for treasures.

This is truly the only place to stay while in PEI. The cottages are on a bay with an amazing view and with even more amazing sunsets. Spend time relaxing on your cottage deck while keeping your eyes on your kids playing in the sandbox and playground. The beach is great for collecting sea shells, walking and playing in the warm bay water and red sand.
The cottage was centrally located so close to places we wanted to go, Summerside, Charlottown, even Cavendish
I think that the main reason that this cottage is so wonderful, is the family who own and run it. They were so warm and friendly. Anything we needed help with they were there to answer any question we had to ask. I would recommend this cottage to anyone who who is going to PEI.

Stayed at Schurman's Shore Cottages again this summer and this time it was for 4 weeks. What a great place! Visiting PEI and getting to stay in a clean, cozy cottage that is right on the water is a perfect vacation in my book!

Just wanted to take a moment to thank the Hughes family again for making our first visit to PEI perfect. My husband and I stayed in cottage#10 a little one bedroom cottage that had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. The cottages are in the perfect location to explore the entire island which we did over the 5 days we were in PEI. The views are amazing as well as the sunsets. This is definitely the place to stay if you are looking for a quiet spot on the water and at the same time close enough to get anything you need in Summerside. The bay has wonderfully warm water to enjoy whether you want to collect shells, watch the little crabs and starfish or just sit and relax and watch the sunset each night. If you are looking for a spot in PEI definitely put Schurman's Shore Cottages on the top of your list! You wont be disappointed.

Our family rented a two bedroom cottage for a week in July. The cottage wasn't large, but it was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The bathroom had been recently renovated and the living area had a flat screen TV. There were a few nice extras as well (bed linen, towels, bath soap) which are often missing from cottages.

The most memorable feature of the cottage is the view over the water, which is absolutely gorgeous. The photos simply can't do it justice. Each cottage faces the bay and has a little porch and a picnic table, so it's possible to spend all evening just admiring the view. It's a picture that we will remember for a long time.

The property offers some helpful services like an excellent laundryroom, books and games for borrowing, and firewood for sale. One particularly nice feature is the laundry service for towels, offered twice a week. There are also some diversions for the kids such as a sandbox and a play structure, and other kids in the various cottages to play with.

The cottages are situated on a bay, about 8 minutes north of Summerside. The water is too shallow for swimming but there are several nice beaches within an easy drive. It's a very quiet and peaceful location, yet only a few minutes from the town, which provides good shopping, restaurants and some good evening shows. Another great feature of the location is proximity to the Confederation Trail, which is great for biking.

The owners are very friendly and helpful. They've created a warm atmosphere which is very welcoming. I would highly recommend Shurman's Shore Waterfront Cottages.

Nice cabins, friendly people, great view - the only thing is that there's not much privacy as all of the cabins kind of face each other - great for families though as there's a visible, central place for kids to play. It was nice for us in the off-season to stay here as a couple- but I probably wouldn't stay there when it's busy, probably not very romantic! Not a criticism of the place as it's great though.

My family stayed here for a week and loved every minute of it. It was worth every penny. The owners were friendly and helpful. My son even borrowed binoculars to look at the ocean with because he thought he saw a dolphin haha I think it was a rock! Cottage was very clean. Bbq with propane available to use at each cottage. Fresh towels every Mon Wed Fri! Bars of soap, toilet paper all supplied, 1 roll of paper towel and conditioning shampoo was there to use like a motel. Beach was nice. Found some sea glass and saw lots of Great Blue Herons or at least I think that was what they were! Lots of stuff for kids to play with and a nice newer playground with sand located center to all the cottages. Volleyball and basketball nets with balls in a box. The freezer in the fridge is quite small and we almost did not have enough room for all our food so just keep that in mind when you buy groceries. The shower is kind of small especially for larger people but the water pressure was great with lots of hot water! There were some mosquitos at night and we were there mid August. Just bring some good fly dope or keep a fire going! In mid August we were blessed with awesome weather but we had a few cold nights where you had to wear a sweater and pants to be comfy. Cable tv and WIFI worked good. Firewood available to purchase. There is laundry facilities and it costs $1.50 for a load of wash and $1.50 for a load in the dryer which is fair. There is a jar of change that they use in an honor system way in case you need to make change and tide pods available to buy there. There is an outdoor clothes dryer with clothespins for everyone's use. Fire pit and picnic table at every cottage. Our cottage had a porch swing which I loved to sit and watch the beautiful sunsets over the water. The small red sand beach was waveless and unsuitable for swimming. It was still lovely to look at and walk. Beds bedding and pillows were clean and so comfy. I had the best sleep there especially with the windows open. Location is great. 25 min from the bridge in Borden-Carelton. 45 min drive to Cavendish. 7 min drive to Walmart, Superstore, Sobeys, Giant Tiger, Sportschek and lots of fast food places in Summerside. Even a Tim Hortons! Kensington is only about a 9 min drive. 45 min drive to Charlottetown! 25 min to Darnley. There is everything you need there to cook with like utensils, plates, glasses, pots and pans, water pitcher, ice cube trays, dish soap. There are dressers and a spot to hang some clothes in the bedrooms and night stands with lamps too. Large garbage can outdoors on the lot near cottage. Dvds, books and games to borrow where the laundry facilities are. I cannot say enough good things about this place and the people who run it. I would definitely come back again and was sad to leave. PEI is such a magical, charming place to visit and it refreshes the soul.

Stayed here for a week a few years back, great views, centrally located so you can visit the whole island easily. Plenty of great places to eat nearby. I know that if we ever return to PEI, we will stay here again.
