#1 of 11 Speciality lodging in Koppal
We are based in the historical settlement of Anegundi, which dates back to the 8th century. Anegundi is located on the north shore of the Tungabadra river with easy and picturesque access to the Hampi World Heritage Site. Our brand Uramma, has been named in homage to the village goddess and guardian Uramma. Our vision is to restore beautiful heritage properties that are rooted in the unique architectural traditions of the region and provide a high standard of modern comfort for a global audience. These properties provide a unique combination of rural hospitality and modern amenities. All of UHH’s employees are sourced from the local community and have received training in ‘hospitality’, thus building their individual capacities.

Uramma is a great place if your looking for bonding time with your partner and space to read and reflect. It's not ideal for families or even sightseeing Hampi. It's 21kms away from main site through narrow village roads. The pricing is on the higher side for amenities and food offered. Be prepared for monkeys thumping on your roof and being in bed by an early 9pm as the village wakes up, and wakes you up by 5.30 am.

Our stay in Uramma was the high point of a five-week tour of South India. It was fascinating to stay in what is a fairly basic village, and to observe ordinary people's lives - with disadvantages as well as the advantages that that offers. They seem to have taken a number of basic village houses and converted each into en suite accommodation which is quite comfortable and pleasant. We ate every night in the hotel, and the food was not spectacular, but was adequate, and plentiful – if you wanted more you simply askd for it. And the staff were extremely helpful. The walk, from the village to one of the main Hampi locations is extremely pleasant and unusual, taking in a number of ruined as well as restored temples on the way and through the most gorgeous countryside, and includes a brief crossing across the river (price ₹20). Highly to be recommended

We originally stayed here as part of a bike tour through Hampi but also found out it was a place recommended to us by a friend who knows the owner. He thought we would appreciate the ethos of the place as they support sustainable causes in the community. We are so glad it turned out to be the same place and we were able to make the connection! We had a lovely stay and encourage others to stay here as well!

Our stay at the visual memory studio was one of the most memorable of our entire trip to India. Situated in the ancient town of Anegundi, which is older than Hampi itself, the location provides both serenity and the chance to explore this underappreciated.. That said it is important to note that most of the attractions associated with Hampi are on the other side of a river that divides the north and the south and the boats crossing this river only go until six in the evening. However we found that by renting Scooters we were able to explore all of the northside well into the evening. In the day we rented bicycles that we took on the boat over to the southside to explore all of the ruins of Hampi. Hampi and the surrounding areas were the highlight of our trip to India.

A village experience just a short walk away from the ferry service to the Hampi ruins. The rooms are clean, basic and comfy. Dont expect modern amenities like air conditioning, wifi or TV. Since its in the middle of dense vegetation, you might have visitors like lizards or spiders in your room. Keep your insect repellant spray handy, especially at night. The family traveling with us had monkeys thumping on their cottage roof in the early morning. The only problem we faced is that we did not get hot water for a bath, even after we asked for it repeatedly. The front desk kept saying that the heater is on, but for some reason we had only cold water in the taps. Food was plentiful, delicious and always had good variety. The staff are always smiling, very accomodating and friendly. If I had to go back to Hampi, I would stay in this homestay again, without a second thought.
