Our stay at Teak Town was excellent. We were travelling with 9 adults from Finland and four rooms were good for us. Breakfast was ok and staff was easy to reach. We felt welcomed and can recommed this place for everyone. Service was good and we enjoyed nature and sounds of the birds. It takes estimated 15 min to Nilambur city by car. Food was great and the staff heard our wishes concering the food. Thank you!
The place is an ancestral home and is a must visit if you love architecture from the past. Though the place is old it is still well kept and maintained. The area is surrounded by lush greens and amazing trees everywhere which makes you feel so energised and relaxed. The place is really good to stay with friends and family. You will enjoy it even more if you enjoy activities of the countryside like fishing, safari and mingling with tribal people.I even had my first off-roading experience at the academy of our host. All in all, I had a pleasant stay and would recommend this property to everyone is search for an enjoyable\thrilling stay amidst a peaceful setting.
Being an offroader myself, I have been to many tracks around the country. But none of the places I have visited, had the class of JK's (the owner) Teak Town . Teak Town is JK's homestay in Nilambur. The property is exquisite offering all the comforts a traveler can ask for and JK was an amazing host. He took really good care of us. I also took my Thar for a spin on his professional offroad track. The track was testing but was way too much fun. Will definitely be going back there again and would urge all offroaders and tothers to do the same
This ancestral Kerala home is for those who love adventure, nature and some nostalgia. The antique smell of wood enchants us all complimented by the architecture. J.K . Marattukulam is an amazing host, and knows Nilambur like the back of his hand. We were welcomed with hot Puttu and Kadala, along with a strong tea for breakfast. The cook is an expert at cooking authentic Kerala style Chicken curry, along with other vegetarian options as well. The best part of this stay is their 15- obstacle off-roading track. The ride was mind- blowing. We also went for a boat ride on the Chaliyar river and the world’s first Teak Museum ( close to the property ). We look forward to spending our next vacation here!
Really loved the property. The obstacle course built by JK is amazing. And JK is a super host. He takes care of each of your request and his team is always available to ensure that you have a great time. The food. If you are a non vegetarian you'd love what they bring to your table. Will recommend Teak Town any day.
Visited Teak town with friends last week. The reason- off-road tracks. JK has built a really challenging track in his property- both the speed track and the obstacle course gives you adrenaline rush. I struggled on the obstacle course but JK's men were there to help. Due to rain, we decided to rest in his house- the Teak town. It's green and peaceful with nice breeze in the verandah. JK is a great host to hang out with. He doesn't leave any room for an error. Our entire program was well charted and executed. We had full fun at the billiard table and the food there was amazing. It was a non-veg delight. Will be visiting soon, this time to finish the obstacle course in one-go.
Have stay there for a day for my Sister's marriage and we did book the entire rooms over there...Really worth and value for money with good hospitality and food specially by the caretaker Sajan...Ideal for marriage functions, weekend getaways and family get together....
Stayed at Teak Town this April, it's a beautiful homestay with lush greenery all around. April is off season to visit the place and local attractions were under maintenance so we were not able to visit Conolly plot & famous rain forest Nedumkayam. However, the owner suggested & assisted us in visiting places like teak museum, local teak plantation, forest range & Chaliyar river. The estate has various trees like Mango, Coconut, and other exotic fruits. They have the kitchen so dinner and breakfast was served in the common area where we enjoyed local dishes also ... The property is east facing so you get to view a beautiful sunrise with a feeling of calmness and serenity. The caretaker Mr. Sajan was cooperative and humble...
A great place to spent a peaceful weekend. You won't expect such a wonderful place in this part of the state. The staff is helpful and pleasant. It has Kerala Christian style architecture. It is in the middle of an estate, so there is a greenery all around with fresh air.
Lovely place to stay with Family! Top quality experience - far beyond what one would expect in this part of Kerala! You can order for local foods and try cooking with them. While driving from Nilambur town towards Manjeri, you will find Teak town one kilometre after Vadapuram bus stop. Right opposite to the gate of the Spring International School. The property offered accommodation too. Classy rooms and common areas with a fine balance of Kerala style architecture and functional modern design. Rooms were spacious. Service was okay with room for improvement. Staff available late in the evenings very likely won't be able to communicate in any language other than Malayalam (language of Kerala).
