I have just been for a night at the guest house. I am a bit surprised by some negative reviews here. First of all, it's a guest house, not a hotel. So relax and feel at home. I have no bad things to say about the guest house: - nice, big and comfortable room - good bed - great bath...

There are no management staff over the weekend. Staff on duty are not sure about times for serving dinner. Selection of wine available are terrible. Facilities cannot advertise pool table and the. It is not in working condition. Meals served were below average and it felt like the cleaning staff serving us. We had to ask for extra sugar and...

Middle of highveld summer - no aircon? Cheap standing fan moving air around. Mosquitoes as no mesh on opening windows / doors and cannot close as temperature sweltering. Room run-down and showing its age. Bed does not even match headboards. No room service, bar service etc as advertised. Reception not helpful at all - young man thrown in deep end....

When we arrived we received a hearty welcome and we were helped off-load with our large amount of luggage. Our first impressions were of a well run and comfortable establishment. However, things went downhill from there: It was impossible to plug in the kettle as the cord was too short for where it was placed - I had to stand...

When we wanted to freshen up and get ready for our function the one room did not have a mirror/vanity or a plug where they could use they hairdryer and do their make-up. In the other room there was a mirror but no plug for the hairdryer. We had to unplug the fridge in...

Food left a lot to be desired. seems a lot of frozen and left over food is used. Also the TV'S in the rooms are very outdated and badly positioned high on the walls. The choice of channels is also very limited.

Thank you for your valuable input. Abbey Road Guest House has undergone significant maintenance. Unfortunately during the time of your stay, due to unforeseen personnel issues, we were forced to outsource our catering requirements to a third party. We have also increased the number of television channels to 13.
