This is a family friendly resort, everyone is welcoming and attentive. Free access to canoes, paddle board, and lots of islands and inlets to explore. Family friendly daytime activities. We don't fish but we really enjoyed the morning fishing. The breakfasts, while not gourmet are good. The moonlight night was beautiful. The indoor pool has an opening to swim in...

We booked last minute and were lucky to get a three bedroom waterfront cottage. The cottage was spacious and could easily fit 8. It had open concept, two bathrooms and a porch with a nice view. Breakfast was buffet style and had eggs/bacon, waffles, fresh fruit, etc. We didn't try the restaurants but they looked good from the outside. The...

Whether you choose a dog-friendly cottage, or one of the new suites with Jacuzzi tub, Viamede's accommodations are snug and comfortable. The newer rooms have Jacuzzi tubs and fireplaces. The cottages have great views of the lake and have BBQs and porches for settling in and watching the sunset. There's an indoor pool, plus an outdoor pool and lots of...

My wife and I just enjoyed an excellent getaway weekend at the Viamede Resort and we wanted to thank Owner Ben, Chef, McKenna and all the wonderful staff for making it an amazing experience. We were given a Resort trip as a Christmas present and while researching various resorts within a few hours of Toronto, read an article about the...

Just spent a relaxing two day stay at Viamede. Chose a deluxe room in the Hilltop Lodge. Recently renovated and very comfortable. So nice to sit and relax by the water - very peaceful. The highlight of the visit was our amazing 7-course dinner at Mount Julian with Chef McKenna. Every bite was delicious and wonderful and just the right...

We visited in March and really enjoyed our stay here. The cottage was cozy. The view was gorgeous. There are many obvious upgrades and renovations that have been happening here to make your stay that much nicer. There was a lot to do here and the food at the Inn at Mount Julian was unreal. It was so good I...

My fiancée booked a culinary evening package as a birthday surprise. The food absolutely blew us both away, "Fine dining in the kawarthers does exist". We had the 9 course tasting menu with paired wines which was not only diverse but utterly inspiring, jam packed with local produce and seasonally inspired tastes. WELL worth a visit for the food alone....

As an addition to my wife's birthday weekend, I thought it would be nice to go on a quick get away that was still close to home. I found Viamede on the Internet and made the reservation over the phone. The cost was high but the sales pitch sold me. When we arrived, the first impression was really lack luster....

They wanted $600 to rent a room (Kawartha, board room or yoga room) for a one hour pizza party for a team - seriously guys? Who would rent a small yoga room for $600 for ONE HOUR?!? We have been to the Viamede several times and each time it gets better.
