We spent X-mas at this small-scale local hotel. It was beautifully decorated, very warm and welcoming. It is located in the centre, you just walk out the door and find any sort of shop you like. We had a delicious X-masdiner, almost too much and too good, but enjoyed it very much. Good service. I'd love to come again.

Rooms are okay but could do with updating. The location is great as it is in the main square. Bit of an old fashioned hotel as they shut the doors when the last guest is in and we felt that we had kept them up by not getting back until late. Breakfast was fine as far as far as a... More

The positive is that the building has great vibes and the location at the market and proximity to the church makes it ideal. The problems are the hotel it is not well maintained, the rugs haven't been cleaned or swept well, the rooms are barely touched during your stay and the amenities are few. The breakfasts are really not worth... More

Stayed here on a tour of The Netherlands. The hotel is located in the town square which we thought would be a great location. On the plus side it has a great Saturday market with great cheeses, food and usual low end goods. The downside is that teh sqaure has a church that chimes every 15 mins, although it stops... More

royal rooms are very big, large bed, 2 chairs, coffee table and if you ask for room 103 you will get a small balcony at the front overlooking the square too. the only downside is the church outside does keep the bell going through the night on the half hour but the sound reduces after 9pm. loads of restaurants to... I spent 10 days here on business and thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it. Simone & Frans are two exceptionally hard working people. The food in the restaurant is outstandingly good, with exquisite attention to detail. Staff are courteous, bilingual and very friendly. The owners should be very proud of the service they are providing and the effort they have... More

The Hotel Stad Munster is a fantastic hotel with great staff. I would recommend it. Simone and Frans are really nice people with a great sense of humour. The new coffee machine is amazing and well worth the investment.

Last week I accidently end up in the Hotel Stad Munster restaurant. What a pleasure. Delicious food, good wine and apero. My colleagues and I choose for a 4 dishes surprise menu and we won't regret this. You'll find this restaurant at the main square of Winterswijk, just beside the church.

This classic and historical hotel changed ownership a few years ago. Owners are not from the region. The art deco interior has been adjusted in a distasteful manner and wo has such fantastic potential.rries are that more will be lost. The kitchen is not too good despite the new cook. Room was basic and simple, breakfast excluded and offered for 15... More

We had a nice stay here, the room was nice and big, bathroom was ok size. As in many hotels, everything is quite wet though after showering. Staff was very friendly. Free parking at the back, There is a risk of waking up early because the chirch is about 5 meters from your room window and bells will chime in... More
