We had a fabulous time staying at Duinrell. We were two families holidaying together with children aged 18, 13, 11, 11 and 8. Duinrell is a big park to stay on, bikes are highly recommended for you to explore the park and local area. When you stay on the park you can literally just walk into the amusement park, you don’t need to queue to get in so this is a bonus.
Accommodation is quite basic but was clean and had everything we needed, we were only cooking and sleeping in it after all! We stayed during October half term so it was chilly in the evening, our accommodation had heaters in every room which were warm, we ended up opening the doors they heated the accommodation up that much! We booked our accommodation through Alfresco and the prices were much cheaper than booking through Duinrell directly. The accommodation that is exclusive to Duinrell look fabulous though (see pics)!
The amusement park is great, lots of big and small rides. When you stay at Duinrell this is all free, even the indoor play areas. Our children loved the park and after we spent the day at the beach or exploring we could just wander into the park and get on the rides. We used the parks in the morning and later on in the day, the queues weren’t too busy then. The swimming complex is good, because we didn’t book through Duinrell we had to pay a reduced price to access the pool, I would recommend you book more than 2 hours too, when we got out just before our end time we spent ages looking for a changing room as they were all full! Be warned this can eat into your time and you could be charged the overage! We went to the pool after tea and the queues weren’t too long, we also went first thing on opening, there were queues to get in but they we down quickly. Some of the slides in here are great, we laughed so much, especially on the ones where you can go down together. The site is near to the beach and we cycled, it was a nice ride to Wassenaar where the beach is lovely, great bars serving a wide range of drinks and a few ice cream shops there too. We visited the square houses in Rotterdam and the food hall is amazing! So many different types of food and treats and the building needs to be seen to be believed! (See pics!)
We would recommend the site and visit again.

Wish I had read more reviews before going, however, relied on numerous recommendations from friends. The place was definitely over-hyped.

Holiday started with a horrific journey due to traffic, took 5 and a half hours to drive there from Calais. Upon arrival accommodation (Comfort Vista) was poor. Spent first hour cleaning the caravan. Urine in the toilet, used plaster in sink and what seemed like half of the sandy beach on the sofas that we had to beat out. Aside from this accommodation was dated and tired, showers not very nice went to complain to find 2 other families making similar complaints. Staff said park was fully booked so offered us discounted pool tickets.

Did not realise you could get different accommodation and access to the park depending on what company you book through. For example if you go direct through duinrell you get free WiFi and pool access. We booked through Eurocamp and had to pay for WiFi and our "discounted" pool tickets were 10 Euros per person for 2 hours... not cheap.

The Wasps. Deary me they are EVERYWHERE. Our kids are terrified of wasps and it was impossible to eat anything outdoors in the park without being attacked by one or more or another flying creature.

Was not told that we needed an "ID Card" for access to the pool and entry to site. This required a passport photo of each person, fine if you happen to carry a stash of them around. We got told by staff they were cheaper in town than to get them from the Plaza on site. They ended up costing double the price (40 Euros).

So that's the mains cons out of the way...

Overall holiday was good. The Theme Park on site was big with plenty of rides, although as it was open to public be prepared to queue, even for smaller rides, especially when local schools go.

Site swimming pool was great for kids, although gets very busy and get there early before changing rooms become a mess. Lifeguards don't seem to be the most switched on.

The local town is beautiful to walk around with plenty of restaurants and a reasonably priced supermarket (Jumbos) and a UK shop for the home comforts! Food on site is pretty limited unless you like Pizza and Burgers.

The beach is great and only a 10 minute drive from the site, easy to cycle to though. Bike hire is good on sire and not too badly priced.

Overall it was a good holiday and a week there was plenty. Didn't feel it lived up to expectations though and doesn't seem to be as good as maybe it once was. It was our first time and we would go back, although not in a rush too, and would definitely be choosy about the accommodation we book.

Just a few nit picks first. There is no oven in the dungalow we had just a microwave/ grill and gas hob. Air con would have been nice as the design of the building makes it very hot on a hot day. The cost of drinks and food varies massively from place to place inside and outside the venue. The layout of the holiday homes means it's easy to get turned around easily.
Apart from those tiny things the place is amazing. It had been delayed 3 years due to covid but it was worth the wait. We went as a family of 3, me, my partner and 8 year old. There is something for everyone but it is mainly aimed at children of all ages. The surrounding area has some awesome places to visit as well. The town of Wassenaar is on the doorstep of Duinrell and it's full of places to shop and eat. There is a super market called Jumbo which is more than sufficient 4 mins away. We also had the best ice cream and milkshake from a place called Luciano that's in the town.
The swimming pool is fantastic with so many slides and pools that you keep finding new ones hidden away. The amusement park is a perfect mix of high thrill and kids rides. I would recommend this for large extended family holidays as you always have something to do. It's clean, the easy to get round, not too busy or long queues and the phrases of Dutch we learnt weren't needed as the Dutch speak excellent English. We drove there via the ferry (get a cabin if you go via ferry, totally worth the £35) which was great as it meant we could load up the car with everything apart from the kitchen sink.
Go, you won't regret it. We were all sad to leave.

Back in January 2020 we booked a touring pitch with private bathroom to stay Easter 2020.
At the start of march BEFORE the covid 19 stopped travelling I received a phone call from duinrell to say our pitch hadn't been built yet and we would need to choose a different one.
Had a lengthy conversation with the helpful staff member and together we choose one to suite my familys needs.
As I had paid extra for the previous pitch with private bathroom she said she would refund the difference back to the card I used to pay and I should get it back in 3 to 4 DAYS.
The virus spread and resulted in a travel ban.
I was offered to move our stay any time up to December 2021.
But they needed the new dates by October 31st 2020.
I and my partner get our holidays from work allocated in January (2nd)
We are not guaranteed to get time of together.

This is where there helpfulness has stopped they will not budge or refund.
27 emails and numerous phone calls (see one below)

And to top it all 7 weeks later after I was promised a partial refund for moving our pitch it still hasn't arrived.
A section 75 via the credit card company is now in process for the full amount.

Perfect for a family. The park is clean, it's not too big and feels really safe so you can let 10 year olds run off and make friends. Queues not too big, enough attractions for at least a couple of days. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Bungalows (Comfort standard) were clean, and the kitchen was well-equipped. The sitting room was a nice size, but every other room would be improved by being just 6" bigger in each dimension.
Twice we didn't have any water in the evening, which was a worry. The ensuite shower smelled a bit stale. But sheets were lovely and fresh, and the beds comfortable.
Queues in the Tiki pool were also reasonable, and a good range of thrill from the downright scary to a shallow pool of warm water for very smalls.

Visited first last year , 2nd time last September 2019 and just booked again forthis April 2920.

We tend to fly then hire a car , not too far drive from airport about 30/40 mins

My 7 year old loves it , plenty to do rides are all great , swimming pool and slides are the best I’ve been too .. and we managed to get some outside pool time when it was warm .

Site is very relaxed and feels very safe , we just did basic caravan no telly which is actually refreshingly nice !

Onsite supermarket is a bit costly but just what you would expect but all round great valve fir money with all the rides and swimming included .

See you again April my daughter is super excited

Like many other people I have contacted Duinrell to ask for a refund for my summer holiday. I live in France and my 81 year old mother lives in Scotland. Just before France and the UK went into lockdown she fell and fractured her hip. Due to lockdown we could not visit her as planned at Easter. We currently rebooked that for February 2021 and we last saw her April 2019. I said that I wanted to cancel the holiday at Duinrell so that if the UK puts in place the rumoured travel corridor between the UK and France we can go and see her. All I got back from them was not even an offer to postpone to next year (not that we want it) but "Unfortunately we had to choose special solutions in these special circumstances and it is not possible to reschedule your booking. We can cancel it but you will not receive a refund." MY POINT EXACTLY. We have special circumstances - my mother is elderly and injured; and we are asking for a special solution - namely a refund so that we can afford to visit her. Otherwise I will not see my mother for 22 months. Sorry to say but at her age we are not sure how many months she may have left.

We have been told by Duinrell our holiday can apparently go ahead on the 6th April 2020. although the rides and pool and facilities will be closed. We cannot travel from England during the close down let alone gather together.
our group booking was for 2 Dungalows 2,126 euros and 4 camping pitches for 2,408 euros a total of 4,534 euros.
They have offered an extremely poor alternate dates which doesn't even include the same dates for 2021
The NL Government prohibit gatherings except for funerals. They also have to keep all guests 1.5m apart or they must close.
What an appalling way to treat return customers who have been coming for 25years with family and friends

We spent a week here and found the accommodation clean and tidy if not a little basic on the supplies given ( we booked the four bedroom/sauna house ) and to not even be given a coffee pod or welcome basket quite unusual.

Location is fantastic! With the water park and theme park on site there are plenty of things for any age to fill their holiday.

Only other thing I wasn’t happy with was management attitude when I went to speak to them about pool passes. I went to the office and questioned why we were given very limited pool passes when their website stated it was unlimited and benefit of booking direct with Duinrell. The girl said she couldn’t answer me wouldn’t look at what I was showing her and when I asked her management she just refused to get them. After five minutes of me asking to see her manager a manager came down from upstairs even though I’ve been told there is no manager. I showed the manager the page in question which is from their website when I booked and I had screenshot it it and she basically said no no no that doesn’t matter anymore And you have a bad attitude. The reason I book direct with them was to get the benefits and if that was not relevant anymore I should’ve been made aware of that as this was relevant at the time of booking. To then say I had a bad attitude and asked to leave is ridiculous and very poor customer service. I Paid a lot of money to book their top tier house and the attitude I received from management and other reception staff was not acceptable for this situation. For this reason alone I would never return to this site.

If you do decide to visit doing well and don’t book via Duinrell direct or even if you do as passes are limited please consider the additional costs as for a family of six it works out almost €200 per day to attend the pool.

Staff inside the park were friendly warm and couldn’t do enough for you and those on the rides again kept the queues moving and had a very good attitude. Our family with four children ranging from 11 to 22 had a fantastic time and will have memories from there forever.

Duinrell cancelled and refuse to refund only for me to book again next year, although i do not plan on going there next year, they refuse refund and send mails with info like

They say that due to the strict coronavirus measures, my Duinrell holiday can't go on. They were apparently really looking forward to welcoming me but in these uncertain times etc ....

They also said that they guarantee me that i would not won't lose me money, but i do not plan on returning for a couple of years if ever

So this is not the case if you dont plan to rebook, this would have been my sixth time to visit the park

Now i have travel insurance but dont get me started there, they are unreachable 'AXA', unreal

Hi all, what’s the food and beverage costs like in the plaza/bar?
Answer from Claire

Duinrell -- have their own accommodation. I booked Eurocamp. It was fine. You have to book the swimming - so yes its 2hours. Think you get half hour for changing as well. You book the slots using a QR code - if you stay too long your charged. Dont know about August.
