Three of us spent two nights here, the location was good check in good too. the rooms were comfy and clean the WI -FI Worked well the pool area was closed but it was October. the parking was just outside and free. The breakfast was typical cold buffet a little over priced at 8€ but adequate
Stayed 28/06/19 nice hotel good value good location room I had getting a bit tired door latch to balcony broke, stayed in same single room last year it was broke then. Hotel next to under pass so can be easily missed but roundabouts both directions so easy to turn round. Like this hotel as it has a large free car park and swimming pool. breakfast with sausages and bacon or continental.10 min walk to main plaza in merida, lots of Roman and arab remains here to veiw if you have time. Prices seem to go up and down daily. book with free cancellation,if price goes down cancel and rebook
Hotel Zeus is very well located. It is easy to find and almost all the monuments are within walking distance. The on site parking is very useful and appears safe. The hotel pool was not open so cannot comment on it. It was being cleaned and filled so will be cold for a while. It is disappointing that the opening period for the pool is so short We did not have breakfast but having a quick look at it ,it seemed to be the usual fare of bread, cheese, ham and cereals. Not very exciting but filling. At 8.00 euros each it seemed a bit expensive The room was large enough for a short stay and we were lucky enough to be allocated one at the back with a balcony. The bathroom fittings were rather tired but adequate. Water was plentiful and hot. However the walls are very thin and every toilet flush from your room and all your neighbours will be heard. The staff were pleasant and helpful and spoke English. If you want an evening meal, have it in town, very little within immediate area. You may have better luck eating at lunch time as the choice in Merida seemed better then. If I was visiting again I would return to this hotel for its location.…
Where do I start? This hotel fell way below our expectations. It was listed as a *** property but not sure when those *** were assigned to this property. It may have been quite a while ago. Yet after our experience I would give it a ** or maybe stretch it to a **1/2 start rating. Hotel in general: The hotel was an older property, and needs lots of sprucing up. For the most part it was clean. The location was very well situated and well within walking distance to all the major attractions: Roman Coliseum, amphitheater etc. Staff: The staff were wonderful, especially Jose and Juan who bent over backwards to help with directions and when we requested a room change, no questions asked, just a smile and a "you got it" attitude. Breakfast: Breakfast was a minimal continental-type breakfast. Cheeses, ham, bread, cereal and milk and 3 types of juices. There were no scrambled eggs, waffles, sausages or bacon that looked anything like real bacon or anything really hot. There were packaged sweet rolls along with a tasty chocolate pastry cut into pieces along with some canned fruit. If you are hungry or expecting some satisfying food choices--not happening! 4th floor Bedroom/bathroom: This was a problem! The "first" room they gave us was on the fourth floor. The toilet was missing the flusher handle and it would not flush the toilet paper at all. The staff blamed it on the 4th floor water pressure. Get to the other room next. Next the fourth floor bedroom's bed had the light switch on the headboard. So, every time we turned over during the night, the bright lights would come on. Plus, the pillow they have in the bedroom is one looooog pillow and not individual ones like we're used to. The balcony was nice with a great view of the city and small park area. It had two chairs and a table outside which was nice. The WIFI in all parts of the hotel was real good and worked great! 2nd floor bedroom/bathroom: After complaining about the 4th floor room/bath, they gave us a room on the 2nd floor which the front desk staff said "should" eliminate the flushing problem. It did not totally eliminate it. Still had problem with the paper but yes, it was better than before. A good thing was that the light switch was now located above the headboard made for a good nights rest without the lights coming on every time we turned over. The beds were the same in both rooms: Relatively firm but not too bad. In the 2nd floor bathroom, there was rust around the tub overflow area and the grout was black in some areas. The shower in both rooms only sprayed in one direction, you could not modify the spray. Price: We were hopping for a better property/amenities for the price we paid, at least have minimal comforts that even 45 Euros/night should include. Overall: I would choose another property if you want some of the creature comforts a good hotel should have.. If you're looking to just sleep there and eat minimally, not a bad choice for the price..…
Good for an overnight stop with good parking on site. Walking distance to the Roman Ampitheatre. No bar just a drinks machine in the lobby. Didn't eat there so no comment on food. Room was fine as was the bathroom, maybe could have done with a couple of extra sockets.
The location was pretty good and had a basic breakfast; The room was a little bit small but the problem was with power plug, there was no one close to the bed. The bathroom was not in perfect conditions. The staff was friendly even speaking only Spanish.
Good looking building and good parking spaces. Swimming pool open only 4 months in a year. Staff speak only Spanish - not a word of English! Very basic breakfast - no eggs or sausages and no coffee/tea facilities in the room. Room size is very small. No good restaurants nearby.
This hotel in not at all like what you see on the sites. The rooms are tiny, you cannot buy a cup of coffee - full breakfast or nothing. They do not speak one word of English. O yes and the pool. Only open for a few months
Hotel Zeus. Good location (7 minute walk to centre) fair sized room and free car parking. Breakfast was very basic compared to others we have stayed at, only hot food was toast through a machine with only one side working. No eggs, no sausages and cold bacon. Staff were friendly. Although we didn't use pool it looked very clean.
stayed here before many times. excellent swimming pool, ideal after 8 hours on motorcycle. good aircon, single rooms available. best breakfast out of 4 hotels on way to faro. 10 minutes walk max to town centre or €6.00 taxi. ldeal last stop before turnoff to zafra. harley davidson dealer just off town centre.
