Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Off the highway, in the village, this hotel offers you a peaceful break. We had a meal there, and the menu of the day was rather good at CHF19.50 per head. Maybe the Chef likes too much butter... The staff (we saw two ladies) was pleasant, polite and efficient. A good experience.

As an overnight stop on our way to Italy the location was perfect close to the route and Gothard Tunnel and pass. The staff were very welcoming and resolved our issue of a mix up in booking dates. The rooms are very clean if basic but good bathroom and shower. Dinner was excellent with plenty of choice and breakfast included. A very pleasant and relaxing stay. We will arrange our trips to Italy via this route in future.

We stayed here on our way to Italy. The hotel is well located at the beginning of the Gothardpass. We were friendly welcomed into the hotel. Dinner and breakfast were good but not above average. All in all a nice hotel for one night.

We stayed for one night. The hotel is very clean and quiet, the staff prompt and welcoming. It is very well positioned for the tunnel and our stopover was perfect. Don’t forget to try the restaurant with delicious local dishes and very kind staff. Comfortable parking in front of the hotel.

We visited Göschenen with our kids and parents to enjoy the open-air theatre "Göschenen at the sea". The hotel, the food, the rooms and the service is very good. They serve some famous grilled chicken which I highly recommend. We had room 18 (4 bed room) which is fairly big, clean and nice decorated. The room has a nice view into the backyard of the hotel and into some mountains. PS: It's a quite place.

We stopped here for an overnight stay on our way to Italy via the Gotthard Pass. The room was clean but I felt like I had returned to the 1970s. Stunning views and interesting town history but this was the most basic and most expensive hotel we stayed in this summer. The restaurant menu also looked basic and expensive so we had a picnic from the local co-op instead. The one plus that made it better value was that breakfast was included. Staff also very friendly.

Exit the station and turn right (north) crosing the river. Turn sharp left, this is Gotthard Strasse. Past the Hotel Gotthard and your hotel is on the right. All the staff spoke Englis, were very helpful and pleasent. My room (22) had every thing I wanted, was quiet and I slept well. Breakfast was from 07:30 which was tight as one day I had to catch a bus to Wassen. N B Wassen has the nearest ATM and post office. Breakfast had a good selection albeit the were not hot dishes. Dinner was very good, the chef being prepared to adjust the set menu, I don't like curry sauce. There is an excelent view of the mountains from the restaurant and there is a terrace. Recommended. P S The local Co-oP sells a good range of sandwiches, it is less than 5 mins away.

Stayed here for one night. The room was basic but clean. The hotel has added a lift which goes up the outside. Clever addition and much better than carrying suitcases up two or more floors! Breakfast was in a pleasant breakfast room with friendly staff in attendance.

Good Place to stay for a night in Goeschenen, Gotthard. Rooms are a little basic, however nice and clean and good mattresses and all major Tv channels. Beautiful Mountain view from the room. Other Hotels in town were closed (after the winter season) and only the Rossli was open and could accommodated our on night stay. Can't comment on food as I didn't try any.

You pay twice as much as you would in every other country - but this is Switzerland, so expected everything twice as expensive. Considering that the Zum Weissen Rossli is great choice when staying the night right next to the Gotthard. So if you want to ride the pass, or need to use the tunnel - this is a nice little village and a good hotel to stay. The service is ok, the room is very basic. It feels a bit like a youth hostel with absolutely no thrills. (Except for an amazing view). The air is so clean and fresh you feel it in your lungs. They serve a good cheese fondue for (you guessed it…) a steep price.
