Spent a night here while visiting the Malzhaus for a concert. Lovely framework interior courtyard. Bedroom with old wooden beams yet modern with a water bed. Very friendly accommodating staff. Good kitchen for lunch and the breakfast buffet is as second to none. Loved everything about this hotel and can fully recommend it. Will be returning.

having to go to Plauen to meet a person, I've chosen the Matsch for its central position and for not being an anonymous, modern hotel. My favourable impression, was confirmed on my arrival: the building is very, very old, but finely preserved and maintained; the room, also large and with antique furniture; the bathroom, large (uncommon in modern hotels!) and comfortable. The staff was immediately kind and helpful. I've decided to have my dinner in the small and "gemütlich" hotel restaurant, where I've enjoyed some German, traditional food and excellent beer. In my opinion, the Matsch could be a perfect place where to stay also with family as a perfect base to start trips to the surroundings. Also Plauen, is a city that is really worth a visit. It's a pity that I've stayed one day only: one reason more, to go there again!

Nice place. Friendly staff. The best steak in town. Big clean room and great service when I arrived. MC friends just go there and enjoy this Nice little town in a forgotten DDR. I will be back with friends and family. So this was all. Enjoy and be happy.

The Hotel is in the center of the town. A perfectly restored old house with a lot of charme. Small but very cosy rooms. Modern baths. On the ground floor there is a restaurant with good food and very good beer. And the King of Saxony stayed there once (loooong time ago).

Found this pearl of a guesthouse. Two adults and two children. We got the 'suite' on top floor. A delicate apartment with two separate bedrooms. A delightful bathroom, old charming furnitures and a nice view on both sides. We ate a late dinner in the restaurant downstairs, a meal for kings:-) slept in comfortable beds and ate a tastefull breakfast the next morning. This was a perfect start of our vacation. Nice prices and a friendly, helpful staff. Thank you:-)
