Stayed here for a couple of nights as there was nowhere reasonably priced to stay in the centre of Lappeenranta. Easy to reach with a 10-15 minute bus journey or half hour walk. The wooden cabins are very basic with a couple of bunk beds, a fridge and a small table. Toilets and kitchens are communal and also quite basic but clean enough and well-maintained. Not a lot of space and beds not very comfortable, but given what you pay it's perfectly fine for a night or two- probably not somewhere to stay for much longer.
The Huhtiniemi Camping is located right outside of Lappeenranta city centre. The camping itself is in a nice location, next to the Lake Saimaa. However, the facilities and the camping grounds are quite outdated and could use some renovations. However, if you are not looking for a 5-star camping experience, this is definitely a nice place.
Little bit oldish camping! We rent four people cabin, it was not so glamour but there was 4 bed and thin mattress. Cabin smelling old and dusty! restrooms and showers were not very good, clean state! The area otherwise was a great spot on the lake shore.
The setting of this camping area is in a beautiful forest setting near the lake. We stayed in the little cottages which were cute from the outside. Inside they were a bit run-down and lacked comfort. The bathroom facilities were clean and heaps of toilets and showers. There were kitchen facilities, but lacked any equipment so we couldn't use it. Wifi only available in reception area and restaurant. Overall, a lovely setting, but considering the price per night, needs a bit of improvement.
Travelled with small kids in Summer 2014 by mobile home. Toilets, showers, dish washing room etc. needs some update! First impression when arriving wasn't great, husband went to pay and I watched the receptions wall with the signs SFC (Finnish Caravan Assosiation) Recommends from years 1993,1994 and 1995. Well, the place have not seen any repair or something bigger after that. Basic accommodation, and it was the most expensive night during our journey through Finland! Only good thing was kids playground.
