An oldish but very nice hotel near the fortress (about 1,7 km från the railwaystation). The food in the restaurant were excellent. Also the vegan food were good. The rooms are big. Some of them have a balcony. Some got a sauna, other a jacuzzi.

It was very nice and customer oriented atmosphere to stay overnight during the business trip in the hear of Lappeenranta city with good view on the harbour. Breakfast, car parking, evening sauna and restaurant are more than excellent.

For someone who is familiar with the Scandic hotels’ concept, Scandic Patria offers a familiar experience. Basic Scandic breakfast, tidy rooms, friendly service. The location is perfect for walking in the harbour area and the historic fort (plus the sand castle in the summer). For a family of four (two kids under 6 yrs) the room was surprisingly spacious and the kids slept well in their sofa bed.

Breakast and location is good.
The room was dirty. There was garbage on the floor and hair everywhere from previous guests. Especially it’s not nice to clean other guests hair from the bed. Rooms would need to have renovation so I think 200€ per night is too much for these kind of rooms.

We had one night in standard room. Room view was directly to the car parking area and basically no privacy was met. Room was ok but a bit old and tiny. Breakfast buffet was quite average according to typiccal Finnish style allthough the space was crowdy and people wondering around. Basically ok but should be met in the price which was a bit high for the quality.

Patria is a very good choice for you, if you want a little bit more than usual. Location is a fantastic, very near of Lappeenranta harbour, where you have a lot of activities, sight-seeing and good restaurants. You must also visit on restaurant boats and have a drink or snack. Food also available. Fine dining also on restaurant Wanha Makasiini. Good value for your money, though. My personal recommadation is a restaurant Wolkoff. Super food, ultimate service in a historical enviroment. Patria has a long traditions for service people good. Go and try - you won't be disappointed!

Scandic Patria hotel is situated in the city center of Lappeenranta. Parking fee is 15 € per night but you can leave your car to a free parking slot opposite the hotel. The hotel is a modern one and the room price includes a good breakfast. Only the bed was too soft for my taste.

When we made a resevation we asked a top floor room so we get a room third floor next to parking lot. Room was poorly cleaned and hot, ac did not work propely at the room and bathroom/toilet was poorly cleaned also. Last year everything worked just fine when we visit.
Location is really good, very short walk to the famous harbor and that really famous fortress is close too and city centrum is near by.

Stayed here and the room needed refurbishment urgently. Bathroom lamp.broken and door damaged and so was the floor in the room.
The fact that bfast was only till 9.30am was quite annoying. Further dinner orders by 8.30 pm and restaurant closed at 9pm.

Nearby harbour, beautiful walks nearby, normally nice pubs nearby (now closed due to corona). The bed could be a bit higher and mattrace thicker, but otherwise the room was cool. I was lucky enough to have a room with own sauna, which was excellent as it was -17 C outside.

Hotel has a parking garage, moderate rates. You might be able to find free parking nearby for the night, but I don't know if it is worth the effort.
