My husband and I had stayed here years before and had enjoyed it so we booked again. Big disappointment. The rooms have not been maintained. Beds were poorly made and overall the whole room just felt dirty. This seems to be a common problem on the island. Perhaps the GMs of the inns all over the island should invest in...

It's funny how my priorities change when heading to Block Island. Firstly, after visiting the island since I was a kid...I've yet to stay in a 5 star resort on the island and I seriously doubt those types of accommodations exist on the island. We spent 2 nights in the Christina Room, there was a large bathroom, decent sized room...

We chose this "hotel" because it is one of the few BI establishments that did not require a minimum three night stay on a summer weekend. The rooms are located over Aldo's Bakery on a street right behind the main drag. We were concerned about street noise, but it was never an issue. The place was clean and comfortable and...

This was the only wheelchair accessible room available when we booked. A bit pricey but we booked late for the height of the tourist season. The room is small but very clean and comfortable, with a spacious bathroom featuring a roll-in shower. It is in a convenient location near the ferry. Except for having to find our way to the...

Take heed of the other negative commments of this place, as they are spot on. We came to block island for the first time to celebrate our anniversary. We booked the mid week package which turned out to be a total scam. With an exception for Ballards and taking the first ferry back home, this place is as dismal as the...

Came for a couple of nights, the rate was reasonable, the room comfortable, but little things can really change an opinion. The room had a shatter window, no lock, and a roof right outside the window, hmmm. Also, the plastic deck chairs in the room didn't fit the retro antique decor. The hallway echoed voices and doors closing on a...

This is a great location, it was clean, and we got complimentary (yummy) breakfast at the bakery downstairs BUT it was too loud for me - all of the doors - the doors to the rooms, the entry way and the door to the second floor all slam when closing - even if you don't mean to purposely slam them!...

Great location, great price, clean, and cozy. Stayed the first summer weekend in June and really enjoyed it! Very convenient to all of Block Island's main tourist attractions. Not much of a view, but since we weren't in the room unless we were sleeping or showering, it didnt hinder the vacation. Private bath & AC.

I love staying at The Ashley House. It has the coziness and charm of a B&B, but the privacy of staying at an apartment. One of the reasons for this is that there is no busy lobby and front desk; The Ashley House has two private entrances. So you come and go as if you were staying at your own...

We stayed at the Ashley House in June 2012. The first thing I noticed was there was no one on site...The registration desk is at another hotel site where they will store your bags till check in...3PM The room was nicely appointed and very clean, with AC which we didn't need it was so cold that week. It is located...

“Stay away from the Alicia Room, it is over the bakery and there are 2 speakers mounted on the ceiling directly under the room. We have stayed in many other rooms @ the Ashley House and have not had any issues other than loud guests and slamming doors. Regular stuff.”
