Stayed for one week. We stayed in Palatine with spa tub. Very large room tastefully decorated. Staff at this hotel are all very friendly and genuinely warm. Breakfast is included at the 1661 Inn which is 100 metres up the road from the hotel. The breakfast was very nice with variations each day. The complimentary wine and cheese in the... More

We had an amazing time on our recent stay at the 1661 Inn. We stayed in the Colfax suite and everything was incredible. Boris truly went above and beyond. He was great with us. We can't wait to go back.

We loved our stay at the Hotel Manisses. My husband and I were looking for a charming, laid back, convenient place to stay on Block Island and the Hotel Manisses fit the bill in every way. For those who care about robes in the rooms, high end toiletries or turn down service, this is not your place. There's no air... More

What a great find, and totally by accident. Value, service and good food, if you find those three things today when you travel the chances are you had a good time. This place has got it, in SPADES! The price for a resort during the Labor Day rush was more than fair. The service from check in to check out... More

My wife and I had a wonderful time. The room was very nice, and the staff was great. Love the little details, the complimentary Brandy, and the breakfast buffet. The flaming coffee was great. Mira did a wonderful job, and she was very helpful in all the things we asked about. The evenings on the front porch will be memorable,... More

Not sure why the Manisses/1661 doesn't turn up under "hotels" on Tripadvisor, a category thgat for Block Island turns up a decidely mixed bag. In any event, other than the cumbersome name of this multi-property hotel/inn/room complex, this is an unmixedly nice place to stay. We had two rooms at the Manisses, both well-appointed and comfortable. The location is nice,... More

I've been visiting the 1661 for more than 20 years and am never disappointed. The accommodations, views, breakfast, staff, and management are priceless! They really take care to make each visit special, even making shower and changing facilities available well past check out so you can get that last beach day in. Being only 2 hours away from Central Connecticut... More

I stayed at the Dewey House in a first floor room about two weeks ago with my husband. I was a bit worried what it would be like since we booked at the last minute and this was the only room with a private bath left on the property. I figured that it might be the least desirable of this... More

We called the 1661 Inn on Sunday morning to see if we could extend our stay one night (no room at the Surf Hotel we had stayed at on Saturday night). We got a great rate for the family (2 adults and 2 children) which included breakfast. The apartment they rented us on Ocean Ave was spacious, clean, and comfortable…it... More

The 1661 Inn is probably the most charming, and has the best location of all hotels/inns on Block Island. And we have stayed in many. Rooms facing the ocean have a million dollar view. Rooms facing inland are lovely with a wonderful breeze. Beds are extremely comfortable, even the fold-out beds. My husband, daughter and I stayed in two different... More
