Staff are really friendly and funny, outdoor seating is really nice! Rooms are a bit outdated but regardless comfortable and clean. Quiet area, not much noise considering it’s next to a pub. Would definitely stay again if we’re in the area.

Needed to find somewhere close to Reading so that we could attend a dance in the centre of Reading, most hotels were either full or asking for £100 to £150 for the night. My wife found the Emmbrook at £53.00, pleased to say that it was ideal, although breakfast was not included in the package we took. The staff are very pleasant and the inn is being run very well, on talking to one of the owners they have only recently taken it over and have spent the last couple of months getting it cleaned up and shipshape with plans to improve the rooms and outside space in the future. The rooms are very nice and comfortable, plenty of tea and coffee available and a nice size tv, bathrooms are good with very good water pressure for the shower. The outside of the inn is covered in flowers in pots and hanging baskets. We had a good breakfast in the morning, all freshly cooked and that came to £12.50 for both of us. I would recommend the inn to anyone looking for a stay in the area, there were some people staying there that were attending the Reading Festival. We will definitely consider staying there if we need to do so again.

As Wokingham locals, my friends and I like to support local business and so we had booked at the Emmbrook Inn for dinner and drinks to watch football.. we then told a second group about it who also booked at the venue for a similar time, the plan was to watch the football and so out specifics were quite simple.. please ensure that we have a clear view of the screen.. This was promised and agreed.. Upon arrival we were shown to a perfect table and settled down at a rather empty venue (Yes England were playing later). Halfway through our first beer a man comes to our table with a rather smug attitude and introduces himself as the manager and tells us that we need to move to the table directly below the TV set so that half our party booked over a week ago would not be able to see the screen.. I must point out that at the time there were still nearly no patrons at the venue.. We were a little confused and explained that we were shown to this table and had booked it rather specifically the two tables could seat a similar amount of people and failed to see the reasoning, only to be answered well that's what he and the owner of the establishment wants and that is what will happen.. this was explained rather rudely, we proceeded to finish our beers and left to find a far better venue and told the other party as well.. I can honestly say that as a local to the venue, we will never again frequent that place, and caution future patrons about the shocking service and care less attitude..

Friendly local pub near my son’s school. So good to see pubs open again and being able to sit at a table inside. Ordered salmon curry and a beer and couldn’t be happier. Parking at the rear, covered beer garden and traditional pub and Thai food menu inside.
