Our room was spacious and well furnished with a large comfortable bed. It was warm, cosy and the jacuzzi bathtub and TV by the bath were unexpected bonuses! Toiletries were nice, the only thing missing was hot chocolate on the tea tray in our opinion. We were on a dinner, bed & breakfast deal but due to arrive after the...

Stayed here just on Saturday for my sisters wedding & think the hotel is gorgeous, the food was lovely, the staff were so friendly, couldn't do enough for us, especially the cleaners who went above & beyond sorting my family room for me. The bar prices were reasonable too, can't wait to book a wee night in the honeymoon suite...

This was rather mediocre fare. The fact that it was presented on three layers somewhat disguised the mediocrity of quality of the mini morsels on display. The choice of synthetic cakes was poor to say the least. Every cake was a variation on how sugar can be used. There was a lack of variety of flavours in the cakes and...

Cold meat sandwiches not enough meat but still tasty. Very nice place and probably one of the best afternoon teas we've had, but we got this deal on the...

Arrived at the hotel at approximately 4pm, the corridor to our room was extremely cold, on entering our room it was just as cold both in the room and the bathroom, no heat in any of the radiators, we informed staff and they advised that they would reset the boiler, in the meantime my husband decided to heat himself up...

Just had a fantastic overnight stay at The Torrance Hotel. Was an extra present for my wife's 40th, and I must say we weren't disappointed. From the very friendly and helpful staff to the fantastic food and drink(Hubba Bubba cocktail for my wife) to the excellent room. I can say that we will definetely be returning to The Torrance Hotel.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcoming traditional village hotel in walking distance to Scotland's largest undercover shopping and leisure centre in East Kilbride. East Kilbride has many local attractions including Village Theatre, Golf Courses, Ten Pin Bowling, Ice Skating, Odeon Cinema and is only 7 miles from Glasgow city centre. Built in 1773 by General Stuart of Torrance as a cotton-spinning mill and workers' houses the building in Torrance Square provided a focus for town life. In its many incarnations the popular Torrance Hotel has also housed a school, a shop and a Coaching Inn, but it has always been at the heart of East Kilbride. The building has retained all its original character and charm. We have 20 comfortable bedrooms including the newly refurbished Honeymoon Suite for 2007. Enjoy a meal in our warm and friendly restaurant or lounge bar which caters for a wide range of food from traditional meals to bar snacks. We are a 5 minute walk from the local train station which will take you straight into Glasgow's Central Station which runs every half hour. If more information is required then do not hesitate to ask our friendly receptionist staff. We would like to advise guests that there will be no bar or restaurant facilities for the next 4 months. We are undergoing a major refurbishment to improve the services to the guests in the future. ... more   less
