We expected luxury when booked as it was supposed to be a 5* property. It is a good walk from the beach they show on the website. The Check in staff are fine and the Lobby is good and spacious. The room was large and...More

Traffic is a little annoying at weekends and I could sometimes hear music from my room, however nothing that disturbed my sleep. The hotel is right in the middle of the St Julian’s party area.

I was very dissappointed with this hotel. It is a very old building in the process of being updated. However, this hotel will never be a good hotel given the old building and the old infrastructure. I had high expectations from the website. I think...More

I stayed at the Intercontinental earlier this year with my family. Sadly, it is a memory that I wish I could erase, as our experience was shocking, unpleasant and unacceptable. If visiting this area of Malta again, we would stay at either the Hilton, or the Westin Dragonara Resort, both of which are 5 star. Whilst in Malta, we visited the Hilton for afternoon tea, cocktails and once for an evening meal. The ambience was far more luxurious and the staff were very customer focused, making our visits enjoyable. The Hilton is also in a more desirable location central to the harbour, shops, restaurants and classy wine bars etc. We didn’t go inside the Westin, however the grounds and outside of the hotel looked beautifully maintained, although personally I preferred the location of the Hilton. When talking to out taxi driver on the return journey to the airport, he advised us that if he was to recommend an hotel, it would be the Westin. Everybody has different requirements whilst on holiday, so probably best to review hotel information and compare trip advisor reports to decide which hotel options would be best for you. Hope this helps and have a great time in Malta!
