Always friendly people, great service and always relaxing. Even in inclement weather there is always sooo much to do. The variet is great and now one of the pools is heated which is a game changer! Can't wait to return.

The best part of the whole experience is the beautiful sunsets and beaches which you can view all along the coast. But it ends there unfortunately. Our room was really dirty on arrival and even after complaining we found many spiders in the room. There was dust everywhere and it made the experience really like a bad taste in mouth. There aren’t much options for food and during a busy time you may find yourself stuck in big queue with not much else

room is kind of ocean view, really good. It's near to everywhere, and quite. We stayed in K building, worthy and good. It's only disappointed and pity that we couldn't use heat pool for kids, because closed for maintenance. It was Sat, kids were sad cannot enjoy in the pool. We went to another swimming, too cold and cannot stay longer. Wish you can choose night time or week day for the maintenance, weekend is all busy and family wanna enjoy in the pool and spa. Other than that, all good

Great location, plenty to do e.g. snorkelling nearby ship wrecks, numerous water sports, quad biking the sand hills, and the unique hand feeding of wild dolphins. Accommodation is comfortable, delivery and pickup of large family baggage was excellent, even though our villa was a long way from the jetty. Also, we were lucky to be there on our 3 night stay to have excellent live entertainment one afternoon. Two complaints: 1. No smoke alarms, a disaster waiting to happen, as the rows of closely set villas are timber construction and two to three storeys. 2. Having to pay for any equipment, where a lot of resorts provide simple water craft for free.

Response from Tangalooma, Manager at Tangalooma Island Resort
Responded 2 days ago
Thanks GandV5052, Its pleasing you had such a great time during your recent stay. One major concern that we have with your review is the comments regarding "no smoke alarms". From this comment we believe that you may have been staying in a private villa that is not managed or owned by the resort. We take the fire safety responsibilities extremely seriously, abide by all government regulations, are regularly audited by internal a& third-party auditors, and actively manage a detailed register of every smoke alarm across all rooms and facilities at the resort. If a private villa operating near our properties is not meeting its safety obligations in this regard we want to know about it, and want to help investigate it further. We would love for you to provide us with further information about your villa & bookings and we will follow it up with the owner. If you could contact me on feedback@tangalooma.com we will immediately look into this for you. Kind regards Bernie O'Keefe Director of Marketing Tangalooma Island Resort

We are happy to pay if we get luxury in return but in this case the accomodation was dated, the restaurants expensive and the activities overpriced. The welcome brochure lets you know that they are undergoing staged refurbishment but they are still charging top dollar. What a shame! They seem to be targeting the overseas tourist market. Brisbane locals are better off going to Straddie.

You can easily swim the 100metres or so to the wrecks but be aware of the tidal run, best at turn of tide when it is calmer

The Snorkel gear I hired was $25hr plus I paid a $20 deposit even though the sign says $50 deposit. Pool floats are $15 per day with a $20 deposit. Twin kayak was I think $50ph. Just a tip. if you can pay any deposits with cash as its refunded on return of equipment overwise if you pay by card it takes around 4 business days to be back to showback in your account. All the actiivities prices should be on their website under water activities, land activities, criuses etc. if you click on book now the prices should show. We didnt pre book & pay for any activities. we just went day by day to see how the weather was. We went on the night Illuminated Cruise & the 2hr Marine discovery cruise to try to spot dugeons & turtles. To be honest they were both very similar. I would say out of them both The Marine discover was alot better as it was during the day & went further out along Mortan Bay. Even though we did see dugeons we did see 3 turtles, fishfeeding & 2 pods of olphins. Plus that includes History talk of Island. My daughter & I did not do any other activities. Food in local Grocery Gift Shop is pretty expansive. $6 1.5ltr soft drink, $12 for 2 small prepacked chicken Breast or steaks, same for eggs etc. I also found some food at the restaurants a bit expansive. Hope this helps & have a great time.

Hi - we stayed 3 nights and it was more convenient for us to buy breakfast from the store on the island (we like to sleep in!) They had a good range of basic food and the prices were reasonable. There is also the coffee shop with pastries and cakes. The buffet breakfast we did not go to as not that big an eater in the mornings. Enjoy your time, its a very relaxing place and space
