Had a wonderful stay here. We arrived on the last night of the 2015/16 Igloo Hotel. The staff are extraordinarily helpful and friendly. We were particularly anxious to see the Northern Lights - and there they were! Each year, the Igloo Hotel is rebuilt and a new theme is chosen. The ice sculptures in the Igloo are beautiful! The experience...

I have just spent a night at the Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel. This is a true experience and a really magical place! As the name tells you, this is a snow/ice hotel. This means that the rooms are made out of snow and ice. Its almost like sleeping in a snow-cave, just a bit more comfortable. You are sleeping in worm...

If you're wondering how you'd cope sleeping in -4ºC to -7ºC, don't worry: just go for it! So how was it? I arrived, got a guided tour of the main building showing me where the toilet facilities, changing rooms, showers, sauna, luggage room, lockers and hot tubs were, and was invited to have a look around the igloo hotel itself....

You can't go to Norway in winter without visiting an ice hotel.....so i did!! Beautiful sculptures, carvings and decorations. Stunning chapel where they actually perform marriages and blessings. You'd have to wear thermals underneath your bridal gown! Wouldn't fancy sleeping there though as it's soooo cold! Had a shot of vodka from the ice bar served in an ice glass!...

One night is enough. But Its AWESOME Beautiful, weird, cold (but you ARE warn in the sleeping bags) Location is all, walked out onto the Alta River to watch the Northern Lights, tobogganed, snow shoed through the forest. Had reindeer for breakfast, which was all you can eat buffet.

Ok so this is an expensive place to stay to not have a toilet etc in the room and to have to put on more clothes than I ever have to go to bed and to wake up cold, but WOW what an experience. The igloo and all the sculptures are just magical, it really is a feat of engineering....

My husband and I stayed at the ice hotel on 14th March. On arrival we were given a tour of the adjoining hotel which is beautiful and then taken inside the ice hotel where we slept. We booked through the cruise and probably would never have considered the experience if this trip hadn't been offered. (there were 8 of us...

We visited the Igloo Hotel but did not stay overnight - staying is very expensive and, frankly, at my age I value my comforts! However the ice carvings are very spectacular and should not be missed. Every year the theme of the decorations is different so this is a visit which could be repeated. You also get an included drink...

Booked Snow Mobiling on line, which we did in the night. This was from the Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel. Much cheaper than through the cruise company. Picked up in Alta. Provided with all the gear and were out for over 2 hours. Our guide was a very pleasant man called Hans. Afterwards he gave us a tour of the Igloo Hotel...

An amazing experience in an amazing hotel. Get there early to enjoy the hotels own toboggan run and go snow shoeing and kick sledding on the Alta river (in wintertime obviously). Wrap up warm and go outside and enjoy the Northern Lights is nature is on your side. Enjoy.
